In short: Innovation x Immersion x Emotion

For over 20 years, we have been behind 25 games for PC and consoles, including famous licenses, original games, and innovative creations.

Today, we work with over 300 employees on Microsoft Flight Simulator, the A Plague Tale franchise, and HoloForge, the studio's XR department.

Our goal as a studio is to create exceptional, memorable interactive experiences for our players.

Pursuing this goal is our source of daily inspiration and satisfaction. It pushes us to always do better, to progress, and to surpass ourselves: this is what guides us and gives meaning to everything we do here.

Why is this position a great opportunity for you?

It's the prospect of joining an experienced and ambitious team that previously created “A Plague Tale: Innocence” and then “A Plague Tale: Requiem”. You will be encouraged to fully express your potential and continue to develop your expertise.

With a human-sized team, you will have the chance to take on responsibilities, work autonomously, and become a reference on several aspects of design. You will participate in all stages of the production process of our new project, a 3rd person narrative adventure, from initial conception to final implementation in the game.

Your team

Within the Design pole, under the supervision of Kevin Choteau, Game Director, you will collaborate daily with all other trades. Your role will be crucial to coordinate everyone's efforts, ensure creative coherence throughout the project, and transmit the game's vision to the Level Designers team.

Your missions

  • You will be responsible for the conception and creation of captivating levels, from analyzing the specifications to proposing adapted and feasible solutions.
  • You will take charge of the conception and balancing of specific gameplay functionalities, in collaboration with artists and programmers to ensure a fluid and engaging game experience.
  • You will intervene in the fundamental tasks of Level Design (adjustment, integration of elements) to teach, clarify, help, or debug.
  • You will have the freedom to test new ideas and innovate to push the boundaries of Level Design.
  • You will take charge of level prototyping and ensure regular updates of Level Design documents so that they are clear and accessible to the entire team.
  • You will manage level testing in close collaboration with the QA team to guarantee their quality and compliance with project objectives.
  • You will participate in recruitment for your team, organize, rationalize, and optimize collective work.
  • You will create a positive and stimulating atmosphere, by sharing best practices, training less experienced Level Designers, and encouraging initiative, collaboration, and autonomy.

The fundamentals for succeeding in this role

  • You have already experienced all stages of game production until its release.
  • You have a minimum of 7 years of experience in Level Design on several published AA/AAA video games.
  • You master the different phases of level design (block out, prototypes, successive passes) and know how to translate design intentions into engaging gameplay.
  • You already have good management skills or at least a strong desire to develop in this area.
  • You have experience with scripting tools and game engines.
  • You are very creative and have a solid video game culture, especially in the narrative-adventure genre.
  • You have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with an ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • You pay attention to detail while maintaining efficiency in the production process and adherence to schedules.
  • You like to share your ideas and learn from others.
  • You have an operational level in French (written and oral).

The little extras to be even more comfortable

  • You have experience with a proprietary game engine.
