Responsibilities
Set and own UX strategy: You develop the strategic plans for the UX team. This could entail building strategic UX artifacts like user journeys and personas.
Helping the team understand user motivations better for better UX solutions.
Align with the product management team: Understand the product vision and requirements. Aid the team in delivering specs that align with the vision and timeline requirements. All along keeping the output quality high.
Oversee the UX team: Lead and mentor direct reports, make hiring decisions for the team, and help individuals improve by providing feedback on research and design work.
Plan budgets: Work with cross-functional leaders to allocate the resources necessary for the UX team to complete their work, for things like research and tooling.
Delegate and manage UX deliverables: Prioritize and assign work to the team while ensuring deadlines are met and manageable.
Facilitate the design process: Set and maintain team workflows, evaluate what is and is not working, and document the design process. Wherever necessary improve and evolve the existing process.
Lead design reviews: In a design review, help the UX team explore, and identify areas to improve in the brief output. Constantly under the product and user better so that reviews and feedback could be given with an objective lens.
Communicate with stakeholders: Speak regularly with other teams and leadership about progress, upcoming work, product vision, and any work requests assigned to the team.
Requirements
8+ years of UX design experience. Experience managing a team of a minimum of 3 to 4 UX designers.
Preference will be given to candidates who have experience designing complex solutions for complete digital environments.
Expertise in standard UX software such as Figma is a must. Basic knowledge of how responsive works on different device sizes.
Ability to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to internal team members and cross-functional teams. -> Clear communication skills
A clear understanding of the importance of user-centered design and design thinking.
A good grasp of user-centered design (UCD), planning and conducting heuristic analysis, and usability tests guiding and mentoring the team to do these.
Extensive experience in using UX design best practices to design solutions, and a deep understanding of mobile-first and responsive design.
Understand product specifications and user psychology
Aiding the team in creating new prototypes based on user testing and feedback
Conducting usability testing to identify user pain points and creating an improvement strategy
Enabling the team in creating wireframes to demonstrate best-in-class user experience including interaction flows, information architecture, and designs
Have an understanding of visual communication.
Work with UI designers to implement attractive designs
Follow up on the performance of the executed designs based on conversion rate etc.
Ability to work effectively in a team setting including synthesizing abstract ideas into concrete design implications.
Be passionate about resolving user pain points.
Be open to receiving feedback and constructive criticism.
Be detail driven, and able to manage time across several projects at the same time.
Be passionate about team building with empathy and a solution-oriented attitude towards people and outputs.
