Frostbite, EA's proprietary game engine, seeks a Machine Learning Software Engineer to join the Frostbite Quality AI team. You will design and build machine learning systems to enhance engineering efficiency for Frostbite and its games. This role involves collaboration with software engineers, data engineers, and quality analysts. Responsibilities include designing ML-based solutions for software development workflow problems, building end-to-end ML systems (model evaluation, deployment, data collection, debugging, performance improvement, monitoring), collaborating on real-time data processing, writing clean and well-tested code, staying updated on AI advancements, and actively participating in EA's AI/ML community through knowledge sharing and mentoring.
Must have:

As a Machine Learning Software Engineer in the Frostbite Quality AI team, you will design machine learning systems that improve engineering efficiency for Frostbite and our games. You will collaborate with other software engineers, data engineers and quality analysts. You will report to the Senior Manager of Engine Development of Quality Engineering. Our team promotes a culture of learning, innovation and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Design machine learning-based solutions to real-world software development workflow problems.

  • Build end-to-end systems, including model evaluation, deployment, data collection, debugging, performance improvement, and monitoring.

  • Collaborate with data engineers to design real-time data processing that allows dynamic context and improved inference.

  • Write clean, well-documented, well-tested code that integrates smoothly with existing codebases.

  • Stay up-to-date on advancements in deep learning and generative AI through self-study and internal and external conferences.

  • Be an active member of EA's growing AI/ML community, communicating to partners, sharing knowledge, and mentoring other team members to develop their skills.

Qualifications

  • BSc or MSc degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics, or equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years of experience developing ML systems.

  • Proficient in Python.

  • Expertise in ML frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, or MLFlow.

  • Experience with large-scale machine learning, including big data and model deployment in distributed computing environments.

  • Familiarity with the machine learning ecosystems of cloud providers (AWS, Azure).

  • Proficiency in good software engineering practices (version control, unit testing, code reviews).

Bonus if you have...

  • Familiarity with software quality processes, test automation, or game development processes.
