As the Lead ML Engineer, you will work closely with operations and data engineering teams to drive the success of machine learning projects, aligning them with organizational goals. This role is 50% leadership and 50% hands-on technical work, where your acumen will be pivotal in scaling ML solutions. You will ensure the robustness, efficiency, and business impact of deployed models, leading a team of ML engineers and fostering a collaborative culture.

  • Ensure the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of deployed models through regular monitoring and performance tuning.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, tools, and best practices to continuously improve the ML workflow.
  • Create technical documentation, code reviews, and ensure adherence to best practices.

Your leadership and technical acumen will play a pivotal role in scaling our ML solutions and ensuring their robustness, efficiency, and business impact.

Job Description

  • Oversee the end-to-end development, deployment, and optimization of machine learning models and algorithms.
  • Ensuring the team's DevOps best practices and improve the automation of our processes
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of ML engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering a collaborative team culture.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineering and operations, to integrate ML models into the company’s architecture and workflows.
  • Design and implement scalable machine learning pipelines and systems for production.
  • Ensure the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of deployed models through regular monitoring and performance tuning.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, tools, and best practices to continuously improve the ML workflow.
  • Create technical documentation, code reviews, and ensure adherence to best practices.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of professional experience in developing, deploying, and managing machine learning models in production.
  • Experience: initial experience in management/ leading teams is required (You'll be leading a team of 4 direct reports)
  • This role is 50% leading & 50% Technical (Hands on)

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Python and its ML libraries/frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
  • Solid understanding of machine learning algorithms, data preprocessing techniques, and model evaluation metrics.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and ML deployment frameworks (e.g., MLflow, Kubeflow)
  • Familiarity with data engineering workflows and tools (e.g., Spark, Airflow)
  • Good knowledge of DataBricks would be a plus
  • Proven track record of managing and mentoring engineering teams.
  • Excellent communication skills and fluency in English & French to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
