The Facilities Maintenance Mechanic at IGT is responsible for routine building maintenance, preventative maintenance, and repairs across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, structural, and property areas. Daily checks on various systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire safety, etc.) are crucial, along with repairs to doors, fixtures, and other building components. The role involves preventative maintenance on emergency generators, UPS systems, and data facilities. Additional responsibilities include roof maintenance, landscaping checks, addressing employee work requests, scheduling contractors, and basic metal fabrication. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in building maintenance and possess strong troubleshooting skills across various systems.

Overview

 

The Facilities Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing routine building maintenance and preventative maintenance tasks. The role is responsible for performing such tasks in areas of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, structural and property maintenance. Performs and reports qualitative and quantitative analyses of building performance to the maintenance team.

Responsibilities

 

  • Repair, monitor and maintain facilities equipment including tools, power tools, ladders.
  • Perform daily checks on doors, door frames and equipment.
  • Make repairs to worn or failed door hardware including door handles and door closers.
  • Perform daily checks on plumbing fixtures.
  • Repair and replace worn or failed plumbing fixtures.
  • Perform daily checks and preventative maintenance on HVAC physical systems, building management systems, vents, air flow and air quality.
  • Perform daily checks and preventative maintenance on emergency back-up generator.
  • Perform daily checks on UPS and data facilities.
  • Perform daily checks of roof and HVAC equipment.
  • Clear roof of all debris.
  • Perform daily checks of fire risers and fire, life, and safety systems devices. Report inefficiencies to facilities team and management.
  • Perform checks of exterior property to include landscaping and irrigation, visual checks of exterior lighting and parking lot lighting, and visual checks of all walkways on the property.
  • Check parking lot for safety hazards and failed asphalt.
  • Repair broken power and data outlets.
  • Replace worn and failed carpet tiles throughout facility. 
  • Perform replacement of worn and failed ceiling tiles.
  • Perform replacement of failed light bulbs in fixtures.
  • Perform maintenance requests submitted by employees to the facilities work request system.
  • Schedule contractor work for building repairs when needed.
  • Metal fabrication may be required.
  • Track and maintain work performance in facilities work request database.
  • Answer facilities work requests from building tenants.
  • Meet with contractors on behalf of facilities service agreements and building checks. 

Qualifications

 

  • Must have high school diploma.
  • Must have experience in building maintenance or relevant work/industry for five years. 
  • Basic knowledge of power cycle.
  • Required to climb ladders, work from heights.
  • Low voltage electrical, pneumatic and/or hydraulic system’s  diagnostic and troubleshooting experience.
  • Ability to accurately comprehend and utilize as built drawings blueprints and engineered drawings.
  • Knowledge of personal protective equipment and practical uses.
  • Lifting to 50 pounds.
  • Customer service. 
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Travel between local company properties.

At IGT, we consider a wide range of factors in determining compensation, including background, skills, experience, and work location. These factors can cause your compensation to vary. The estimated starting compensation range is $35,610 - $73,424. The actual pay offered may end up being higher or lower. The Company will comply with all local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.

 

Base pay is only one part of our Total Rewards program.  Sales roles may be eligible for commission payments, while other roles are eligible for discretionary bonuses .  In addition, we offer employees a 401(k) Savings Plan with Company contributions, health, dental, and vision insurance, life, accident, and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, wellness programs, and identity theft insurance. Note: programs are subject to eligibility requirements.
