Join PwC's Mergers and Acquisition Tax practice to help clients manage tax obligations across various industries. This role involves advising on local and cross-border tax affairs, acting as a strategic consultant for business analysis and M&A tax solutions. You will assist with transaction structuring, tax due diligence, internal reorganizations, and post-acquisition integration, assessing historical tax risks, analyzing proposed transactions, and advising on tax-efficient restructurings.
Must have:

  • Coach Associates and Senior Associates
  • Act to resolve issues which prevent the team working effectively
  • Coach others, recognize their strengths, and encourage them to take ownership of their personal development
  • Analyse complex ideas or proposals and build a range of meaningful recommendations
  • Use multiple sources of information including broader stakeholder views to develop solutions and recommendations
  • Address sub-standard work or work that does not meet firm's/client's expectations
  • Use data and insights to inform conclusions and support decision-making
  • Develop a point of view on key global trends, and how they impact clients
  • Manage a variety of viewpoints to build consensus and create positive outcomes for all parties
  • Simplify complex messages, highlighting and summarizing key points
  • Uphold the firm's code of ethics and business conduct

Job Description & Summary

A career in our growing Merger and Acquisition Tax practice, within Tax services, will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients in various industries to meet and manage their tax obligations across unique but ever-changing tax specialties. You’ll advise clients on their local and cross-border tax affairs, while acting as a strategic consultant related to business analysis and M&A tax solutions.

Our team helps our clients with various aspects of merger and acquisition transactions such as transaction structuring, tax due diligence, internal reorganizations, and post-acquisition integration. As part of our team, you’ll have opportunities to assist with assessing historical tax risks of potential targets, analyzing proposed transactions for unusual tax risks or undetermined tax benefits, advising clients on tax-efficient restructurings, and performing financial analysis / modeling to assess the tax consequences of specific transactions.

Experience and skills you’ll use to solve

  • Proven and practical experience in M&A Tax
  • Experience in corporate and/or international tax research, Cross-border transactions/or consulting and compliance in a professional services firm, industry, government agency or law firm is an asset
  • A commitment to providing excellent client service and pride in delivering top quality work
  • CPA, CA designation is an asset
  • The successful candidate requires fluency in English, in addition to French as they will be required to support or collaborate with English-speaking clients, colleagues and/or stakeholders during their employment with PwC Canada
