We are looking for Product Engineer role in preparation for the formation of the joint venture of NXP and VIS, known as VSMC.
Job Description
This posting is for a Product Engineer in a high volume, 300mm wafer manufacturing environment. The HV Product Engineer is responsible for the development, qualification, and lifecycle management of high-voltage semiconductor products, including HV CMOS and BCDMOS technologies. This role involves close collaboration with design, process, test, and reliability teams to ensure robust product performance, manufacturability, and customer satisfaction.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead product engineering activities for high-voltage ICs from NPI to mass production.
- Define and validate HV device structures (e.g., LDMOS, VDMOS, DDD MOS) and ensure alignment with design and process teams.
- Drive product characterization, qualification (e.g., AEC-Q100), and reliability testing.
- Analyze electrical test data (CP, FT, HTOL, etc.) to identify trends, outliers, and improvement opportunities.
- Support yield enhancement, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for product issues.
- Participate in and/or lead cross-functional and lean activity teams. Collaborate with TCAD, SPICE modeling, and PDK teams for device simulation and modeling.
- Interface with customers to address technical inquiries and support audits or failure analysis.
- Qualification of products as well as cost optimization and quality of products.
- Resolving test and product related issues and facilitating cross-functional teams in problem-solving activities.
- Perform device characterization and evaluation for above and other continuous improvement activities.
- Use state of art statistical analysis tools to drill down the root cause of product failure and identify resolution for process or program improvement.
- Work with minimal supervision, balancing competing priorities, to serve the needs of the engineering and manufacturing communities
- Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership in yield improvement.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, or related field.
- Minimum 15 years semiconductor product engineering experience is required
- Strong understanding of HV CMOS/BCD processes and device physics.
- Experience with DOE, SPC, and data analysis tools (e.g., JMP, Python, Excel).
- Familiarity with test platforms and probe/test data analysis.
- Knowledge of reliability standards (e.g., JEDEC, AEC-Q100) and failure analysis techniques.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Master's/Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering
- Relevant working experience in semiconductor industry will be an added advantage
- Proven skills in test software programming, test development, VLSI design, and/or test methodology development are highly desirable.
- Knowledge of Microcontroller and ATE Test programs. Experience with 93K/Pinscale, J750 or UltraFlex Test systems will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of assembly language, Verilog, UNIX/Perl, Visual Basic and/or C/C++ programming knowledge is a plus.
- Fast learner to meet skills requirement for new and advancing ATE and semiconductor devices and testing.
- Good communications skills and readiness to work cross-functionally.
