The Vice President of Operational Excellence is a strategic leadership role within the Payments Business Unit, responsible for driving continuous improvement across processes, systems, and culture to achieve optimal performance, efficiency, and value. This role leads teams in critical incident management, business process engineering, automation/AI, learning & development, and quality improvement, ensuring initiatives align with strategic goals.
Must have:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive operational excellence strategy for the Payments Business Unit.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align operational excellence initiatives with business objectives and strategic goals.
  • Drive the adoption of best practices and industry standards across the Payments Business Unit.
  • Continuously validate and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the team’s progress and success.
  • Oversee the critical incident team and process, ensuring effective issue triage, trending, root cause analysis, and remediation.
  • Implement robust incident management protocols to minimize operational disruptions and enhance service reliability.
  • Monitor and report on incident trends, identifying opportunities for proactive improvements.
  • Serve as a point of escalation for critical issues, providing strategic solutions and ensuring swift resolution for service delivery.
  • Lead the Business Process Engineering team in utilizing Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies to drive process improvements.
  • Identify and prioritize process improvement opportunities, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs.
  • Develop and implement process improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality.
  • Serve as the Automation/AI Business Lead, responsible for the development and execution of the Automation/AI roadmap.
  • Oversee the governance and execution of automation and AI initiatives, ensuring they deliver measurable value.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify automation opportunities and implement AI-driven solutions.
  • Lead the Learning & Development team, including content design, facilitation, and knowledge management.
  • Develop and implement training programs that enhance employee skills, knowledge, and performance.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and development, ensuring employees have the tools and resources needed to succeed.
  • Drive a culture of quality and excellence, promoting continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.

Position Overview

The Vice President of Operational Excellence within the Payments Business Unit at Zelis Healthcare is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving continuous improvement across the Payments' processes, systems, and culture to achieve optimal performance, efficiency, and value. This role will lead a diverse team encompassing critical incident management, business process engineering, automation/AI, learning & development, and quality improvement. The VP of Operational Excellence will ensure that all initiatives align with the company's strategic goals and deliver measurable improvements in operational performance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership and Strategy:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive operational excellence strategy for the Payments Business Unit.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align operational excellence initiatives with business objectives and strategic goals.
  • Drive the adoption of best practices and industry standards across the Payments Business Unit.
  • Continuously validate and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the team’s progress and success, providing regular reports and cross functional insights to leadership

2. Critical Incident Management:

  • Oversee the critical incident team and process, ensuring effective issue triage, trending, root cause analysis, and remediation.
  • Implement robust incident management protocols to minimize operational disruptions and enhance service reliability.
  • Monitor and report on incident trends, identifying opportunities for proactive improvements.
  • Serve as a point of escalation for critical issues, providing strategic solutions and ensuring swift resolution for service delivery

3. Business Process Engineering:

  • Lead the Business Process Engineering team in utilizing Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies to drive process improvements.

4. Automation/AI:

We have offices in Atlanta GA, Boston MA, Morristown NJ, Plano TX, St. Louis MO, St. Petersburg FL, and Hyderabad, India.
