Your Team, Your Impact
The Optics team builds highly integrated component platforms with high speed Silicon photonics, transmit and receive amplifiers, controller ASIC’s with Marvell DSP’s. These components are made operational with a highly functional embedded firmware. The team is responsible for design, verification, and validation of these integrated high speed optical components. The team performs system level testing under various operating conditions, and validates the performance of the hardware, firmware and control loops. An engineer in this team will be involved in a full product lifecycle and will carry new products from inception all the way to NPI.What You Can Expect
The Senior Principal Optical Systems Engineer will be a key contributor to development of state-of-the-art coherent optical modules at Marvell (120GBaud and above).
What We're Looking For
Master’s degree in Physics, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering or related fields with 10-12 years of experience OR PhD in Physics, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering or related fields with 8-10 years of experience in coherent optical transmission.
Solid knowledge and experience in DSP and its application to coherent optical communications.
Proven track record delivering a major component or subsystem into a production coherent optical modem.
Solid understanding of optical and electrical impairments both linear and nonlinear.
Ability to model coherent optical modem performance and impairments.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive technical decisions and resolve complex challenges.
Proficient in at least in one programming language such as Python, C/C++, C#, or MATLAB.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment.
Self-starter. Motivated to get things done.
Willingness and ability to be hands on and work in the lab.
Strong presentation and communication skills
Ability to travel to the United States.
