Job Description

The President, USA will lead Whalar Group's U.S. operations, focusing on strategic growth, team development, customer engagement, and regional partnerships for The Business of Creativity. This hands-on leadership role requires commercial acumen and empathy for the creative economy. Responsibilities include driving the U.S. launch, achieving commercial targets, leading B2B sales of creative business courses, scaling events, developing consulting services, and building a high-performing U.S. team. The ideal candidate thrives in both startup and scale-up environments, acting as a senior brand ambassador and ensuring scalable growth.
Must have:
  • Lead the U.S. launch and go-to-market strategy for The Business of Creativity, driving growth across courses, community, consulting, and content.
  • Define and deliver on commercial targets in partnership with the co-founders, with full ownership of U.S. market performance.
  • Drive B2B sales of creative business courses to enterprise clients, building partnerships with marketing teams, L&D leaders, and education providers.
  • Launch and scale a U.S. events program—from curated gatherings to a flagship annual summit—while developing revenue through ticketing and sponsorships.
  • Lead business development for high-touch consulting services, positioning our team as trusted advisors for complex brand and creative challenges.
  • Develop and execute a monetization strategy for U.S. content and commentary, securing brand partnerships and strategic media collaborations.
  • Build and manage a high-performing U.S. team, starting as the first in-market hire and scaling as needed.
  • Establish clear operational processes, KPIs, and reporting structures to ensure scalable growth and excellence.
  • Act as a senior brand ambassador at key industry events and with strategic partners, representing the voice and values of the company.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to tailor offerings and messaging by vertical, ensuring resonance with U.S. audiences and buyers.

About the role:

The President, USA will lead our U.S. operations, taking full ownership of strategic growth, team development, customer engagement, and regional partnerships. This role requires a unique blend of commercial acumen, leadership, and deep empathy for the creative economy.

You will work closely with the company co-founders to localise and amplify our vision, while building a high-performing team and sustainable business unit in the U.S. This is a hands-on leadership role that demands comfort and capability across all stages of growth - from being the first U.S. hire, operating independently and resourcefully, to scaling operations and building a world-class team as we grow. The ideal candidate thrives in both startup scrappiness and strategic scale-up environments.

Here’s what you’ll do day to day:

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • 10+ years of leadership experience, ideally in creative industries, education, media, or entrepreneurial ventures.
  • Proven track record of scaling a business or regional division in the U.S. market.
  • Commercial and strategic thinker with strong P&L experience.
  • Passion for empowering creative professionals and making creativity a force for economic and personal transformation.
  • Excellent communicator and team builder.
