Principal BI Engineer

We are seeking an exceptional Principal Business Intelligence Engineer to join our dynamic and fast-growing Data and Analytics team at Kaizen Gaming. As part of the next phase of our exciting scale-up journey, you will play a crucial role in supporting the growth of the Business Intelligence team and our data strategy and execution, helping shape our analytics ecosystem, by working closely with BI teams located in different countries to deliver high-quality data products and solutions. 

As a Principal Business Intelligence Engineer, you will be the technical lead in the matter of business intelligence, including:

• BI Data Architecture: The inception and design of processes, architecture and policies for superior data models that serve reports and dashboards, ensuring high-quality and high-efficiency data infrastructure.
• Reporting and Dashboards UX: Define visual standards and aesthetic guidelines for dashboards, aligning with UX/CX Kaizen principles,  while showcasing a clear understanding of story telling design and visualization.  
• Reporting Optimization: The guidance, inception and design of methods for reports and dashboards consolidation and/or automation.
• Performance Optimization: The Optimization of BI systems and processes for performance, scalability and usability, ensuring efficient handling of large-scale datasets.
• Guidance and training of BI team members: The elevation of team’s output through guidance, training and mentorship to adhere to the standards for reports and dashboards creation.
• Collaboration: Working closely with senior leadership, business analysts, and other teams to translate business needs into technical requirements and implementation designs. 
• Safeguard Quality: Aligning and enforcing standards for data quality, governance, and best practices across all BI initiatives and teams. Reviewing and validating any products created by the BI team including schemas, models, dashboards, reports.
• Continuous Improvement: Staying updated on the latest BI trends, technologies and best practices.
• Vendor Management: Oversight and communication with BI vendors in relation to technological advancement and innovation of the BI products and platforms
• Generally, as a Principal BI Engineer, strive to continuously enhance the BI platform and improve the quality of outputs for optimum business benefits.

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field. Relevant certifications are a plus.
• 8+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a principal role.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing BI architectures, reporting solutions, and data-driven decision-making frameworks.
• Strong experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Qlik) and data modeling.
• Deep understanding of data warehousing, ETL processes, and data governance.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern data technologies (e.g., Databricks, BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake).
• Advanced experience with SQL and data query languages for complex data analysis.
