Kaizen Gaming is seeking a Principal Data Engineer to lead and inspire the data segment in building scalable data and analytics solutions. This role is pivotal in implementing the next-generation data platform to unlock deeper customer insights and drive personalized experiences. The ideal candidate will be technically sharp, highly collaborative, and passionate about emerging technologies. Responsibilities include architecting and building a scalable Big Data Platform with a focus on Data Mesh, optimizing data pipelines for performance and cost-efficiency, ensuring a secure data environment, and championing continuous improvement. The role requires deep expertise in large-scale data processing systems, designing data pipelines, real-time analytics, and storage architectures, with experience in data quality management and cloud technologies like Terraform. Strong communication skills and a results-driven mindset are essential.

We're seeking a Principal Data Engineer to lead and inspire our data segment in building scalable data and analytics solutions. You'll play a pivotal role in implementing our next-generation data platform, a key initiative to unlock deeper customer insights and drive more personalized experiences.

This role involves significant participation in solution design and architecture, offering the opportunity to challenge the technical status quo by exploring new data processing paradigms, optimizing for real-time analytics, and driving innovation in our data architecture.

The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication skills, a proven ability to design and implement robust data solutions, and a strong results-driven mindset. You'll be technically sharp, highly collaborative, and passionate about staying at the forefront of emerging technologies and best practices. As a self-starter thriving in a dynamic environment, you'll contribute significantly to our Data & Analytics tribe.

Our team comprises diverse and skilled data engineers with expertise in technologies such as Spark, Scala, Python, Databricks, Delta Lake, GitLab, and Terraform.

As a Principal Data Engineer, you will:

Architect and build our next-generation, scalable, and secure Big Data Platform with a focus on the Data Mesh paradigm.
Drive optimal performance and cost-efficiency by refining data pipelines and data storage, implementing FinOps best practices for resource management.
Help ensure a secure data environment by assisting in the implementation of data security and compliance policies aligned with industry standards.
Champion continuous improvement of our data platform by staying ahead of emerging technologies, methodologies, and industry best practices.
Be a key technical voice, effectively communicating best practices for data architecture, technology selection, and solution design both internally and externally.
Collaborate with leadership to support team growth by identifying and attracting top talent.
Challenge the technical status quo, actively exploring new data processing paradigms, optimizing for real-time analytics, and driving innovation in our data architecture.

What you'll bring:

Deep expertise in the full lifecycle of large-scale data processing systems, from design to implementation;
Proven experience with designing and deploying data pipelines, real-time analytics solutions, and storage architectures;
Experience data quality management principles;
Experience in implementing data security and compliance policies in alignment with industry standards;
Solid knowledge of cloud technologies - Familiarity with IaC (eg: Terraform);
Solid understanding of the Data Mesh paradigm and its implementation in large organizations;
Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences;
Self-motivated and results-driven, with a passion for staying current on emerging technologies and industry trends.
