Principal Engineer (Full Stack - IAM)

Position Overview

Autodesk is seeking a highly motivated Principal Software Engineer to join our agile development team! As a Lead member of a team responsible for building foundational services, you will have the opportunity to lead the team that builds the Autodesk’s Customer Identity Access Management Platform that is leveraged by 150+ Autodesk desktop, mobile , web applications and cloud services as well as a growing third party developer ecosystem for managing user authentication, authorisation, profile and entitlements. The service is one of the key business enablers serving millions of customers every day. You will be working on cutting edge AWS technologies as you build the next generation of Autodesk’s Identity Platform.

Responsibilities
 

• Lead the architecture and technical vision of building and operating highly scalable, distributed, data intensive micro-services

• Champion adopting industry best practices to push the development standards within the team and in the larger organization

• Align the technical direction with business needs, leading the team to make the correct compromises between short-term business opportunity and long-term technical vision

• Help to hire, mentor Engineers, help build fast-growing and high-performing teams

• Lead the resolution of complex problems within own discipline, often with the need to integrate cross-functional processes and outcomes

• Work with multiple teams, perform thorough design and code reviews, drive best practices to clean and maintainable code

• Anticipate business challenges that could have significant impact on Autodesk's operational and financial success, and proactively develop solutions to address them

Minimum Qualifications
 

• BS in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, Test Driven Development and Design principles

• Strong Computer Science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and data management. Conversant in multiple programming languages

• Must have expert knowledge of identity and access management domains, including SSO, SAML, OAuth, Fine-Grained Authorization

• Exceptional proficiency in .NET or Golang, Java or a similar programming language

• Expertise in Cloud Infrastructure platforms such as AWS/GCP/Azure

• Strong experience in programming language like ReactJS

• Expertise with modern technology stacks, API design, microservices and designing for resilience and operational excellence

• Must have experience delivering IAM (authentication/authorisation/identity) services for a multi-tenant SaaS in the cloud at a global scale

• Must have expert knowledge of core identity and access management domains, including SSO, SAML, OAuth, x509, Fine-Grained Authorization

• Strong communicator, you enjoy synthesising, simplifying, and articulating complex problems to different types of audiences, including executives

Preferred Qualifications
 

• Experience with Access platform is a definite plus
