Job Description

As a Principal Engineer, you will be a key player in the technical delivery of marine structure designs. You will be responsible for designs including analysis using software such as LUSAS/Midas/STAAD Pro. Additionally, you will guide a team of design engineers and CAD technicians. You will need to have a profound knowledge of design codes like Eurocode and British Standards and experience in the design of Marine Structures. You will also be responsible for project planning, managing project delivery, and mentoring junior engineers, ensuring quality and stakeholder expectations are met. This role also includes overseeing troubleshooting and coordinating with project managers and the design team.
Must have:
  • BE/B.Tech in Civil Engineering from a reputed institute.
  • More than 10 years of experience in marine structures design.
  • Hands-on experience with Eurocodes/international codes.
Good to have:
  • ME/M.Tech in Marine/Structural Engineering is preferred.
  • Experience in International/European Projects is essential.
  • Good scripting and coding skills in Python/VB/Macros etc.

You will join our Bridges & Civils department As our new Principal Design Engineer with Marine Engineering Specialization within Bridges & Civils department, you will be part of a world class, innovation driven engineering design centre owned by an independent trust fund and its employees. The Ramboll Engineering Centre (REC) is a highly sophisticated center of engineering excellence and based in our India head office in Gurgaon. Working in partnership with all our established offices globally, REC is a centre for excellence in design by offering support within the Ramboll organization to solve the client challenges of today and tomorrow. Your key tasks and responsibilities will be: As a Principal Engineer with Marine Engineering Specialization within Bridges & Civils department you will be responsible for: Carrying out modelling and design of structures independently and guide Engineers within the team and review their work to ensure correctness and quality including review of works of CAD technicians/modelers in the project team, Undertaking technical due diligence and maintaining quality of deliverables thereby ensuring the expectations of the stakeholders are met Overseeing and troubleshooting the work of Marine structures design, guide Assistant Engineers / Design Engineers in carrying out the design and preparation of the drawings and BIM models. Coordination with the project manager and design team for project planning/preparation of work schedules and work breakdown structure, Taking complete responsibility of the assigned projects/work packages and managing and delivering projects/work packages on agreed quality, time and budget, Should take initiatives to develop Assistant Engineers / Design engineers and improve the quality of delivery of the team as a whole, Mentoring and supervising Assistant Engineers/ Design Engineers and provide inputs to Team Lead/Project Manager/Technical Manager for the continued development of the staff in the team Welcome to our Transport division Ramboll is a global transportation consultancy. Experience in International/European Projects is essential Experience in carrying out detailed design of marine structures (of various types and not limited to a particular type of structure) taking into account soil structure interaction aspects is essential. Experience in Steel and Concrete Design as per Eurocode is essential Experience in steel connection design as per Eurocode/other relevant code and using connection design software IdeaStatica. Experience in preparation of design reports and specifications pertaining to Marine structures. Preference will be given to candidates having good scripting and coding skills in Python/VB/Macros etc. Have hands on experience in using the design software LUSAS/MIDAS/STAAD Pro etc is prerequisite, Professional English language skills (written and verbal) are essential.
