Version 1 is seeking an experienced Private Sector Account Manager to join their team in the UK or Ireland. This role involves developing an existing portfolio of private sector customer accounts to achieve sales and growth targets, maximise revenue, and ensure high customer satisfaction. The manager will prepare and deliver propositions, contribute to bid strategies, manage customer relationships, and collaborate with internal teams, requiring regular travel across the UK and Ireland.
Must have:
  • Develop existing customer accounts across the private sector to deliver sales and growth targets
  • Maximise revenue while delivering the highest level of customer service
  • Achieve high levels of customer satisfaction in line with company targets
  • Meet account financial targets by growing value of new and existing accounts
  • Prepare and have ownership over Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) for customers
  • Prepare, present, and deliver Version 1 propositions to customers (virtually and in person)
  • Contribute to bid strategies to maximise winning opportunities
  • Diligently qualify all customer sales opportunities and bids
  • Sustain a pipeline aligned to customer horizon (rolling 24-month basis)
  • Effectively manage time and prioritise tasks
  • Obtain customer and partner Private ity including case studies, win wires, press releases
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Delivery, Partner Account Managers, Commercial Operations)
  • Travel regularly to Version 1 and customer sites across the UK and Ireland
  • Demonstrate experience working in a sales team in an account management capacity or similar role
  • Have experience in working in IT Services, IT Consultancy, Technology solutions or similar industry
  • Gained awareness (or be ready to establish ability to learn) Private Sector tender processes
  • Exhibit influencing and communication skills both written and verbal
  • Be confident in skills to complete tenders and internal documentation to a high standard using Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience of building good customer relationships
  • Good commercial awareness and sound understanding of project and business dynamics
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines

Job Description

Due to the significant growth of the Private Sector business, Version 1 is keen to recruit an experienced Account manager to join our team and be based in either the UK or Ireland. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Account Manager looking for a new challenge, and the opportunity to work with large scale clients.

You will develop an existing portfolio of customer accounts across the private sector in a way that delivers sales and growth targets, maximises revenue whilst delivering the highest level of customer service.

The role will be part of a successful team focused on Private Sector opportunities. The team is made up of sales people, who generate new opportunities and/or lead on responses to large government tenders and Account Managers who manage opportunities into the existing customer base.

Version 1 have been driving success for our customers for nearly 30 years through the market-leading technology solutions we provide and through our people. The role will encompass the following elements:

  • High levels of customer satisfaction in line with company targets.
  • Account financial targets i.e., growing value of new and existing accounts.
  • Prepare and have ownership over Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR’s) for your customers, ensuring they are effective. You will drive completion of any arising actions from the QBR.
  • Prepare, present, and deliver Version 1 propositions to customers and be confident in your ability to do this virtually and in person.
  • Contribute to bid strategies to maximise winning opportunities. Being diligent of the pre-qualification process to ensure all customer sales opportunities and bids are fully qualified and viable.
  • Other responsibilities as an Account Manager include:
  • Sustaining a pipeline aligned to your customer horizon – Grasp their strategy on a rolling 24-month basis, setting out opportunities aligned to the strategy and how we can pro-actively help shape plans and be their go-to partner as a result
  • Effective time management, you’ll be capable of effective prioritisation of tasks and personal time management, while recognising and flagging issues outside area of own expertise
  • Obtain customer and partner Private ity including case studies, win wires, press releases.
  • Effectively collaborate with a variety of internal teams; Delivery, Partner Account Managers, Commercial Operations to ensure success with bid reciprocation, contracts, and prospects for our customers.
  • Travelling regularly to Version 1 and customer sites across the UK and Ireland to build, invest and create strong relationships

Qualifications

  • Can demonstrate experience working in a sales team in an account management capacity or similar role.
  • Have experience in working in IT Services, IT Consultancy, Technology solutions or similar industry.
  • Gained awareness (or be ready to establish your ability to learn) Private Sector tender processes
  • Can exhibit influencing and communication skills both written and verbal. You’ll be able to motivate people at multiple levels to deliver what you need on time and with high quality.
