Job Description
We're seeking a talented Digital Product Designer to help us elevate our digital products at Drive, an iconic Australian brand with a monthly online audience of 3 million. The role brings a strong focus on rapid prototyping, user research, data insights, and AI integration. You'll work under the Principal Product Designer, collaborating closely with a team renowned for its ambition, pace, and high-performing mindset. The successful candidate will be part of a team that has transformed the Drive brand into an automotive marketplace powerhouse.

Day to day you will:
- Rapidly translate ideas into interactive prototypes for testing and iteration, enabling faster validation and refinement of concepts.
- Plan, conduct, and analyse qualitative and quantitative user research to uncover user needs, pain points, and behaviours.
- Utilize data analytics and insights to inform design decisions, measure the impact of your work, and optimize user experiences.
- Explore and implement innovative ways to integrate AI into product workflows and user experiences, pushing the boundaries of what's possible.
- Create high-fidelity UI designs, design systems, and component libraries that are intuitive, accessible, and visually compelling.
- Work closely with product managers, engineers, and other designers to ensure a seamless design-to-development handover and successful product launches.
- Support the creation of ad-hoc design assets used across a range of marketing and content initiatives.
Qualifications
What you'll bring:
Essential Skills and Experience:
- 3-5+ years of experience in digital product design, user interface, and user experience, with a strong portfolio showcasing your expertise.
- A Bachelor's qualification in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Exceptional software proficiency in Figma, from prototyping to design systems.
- Strong skills in Photoshop, Illustrator, and other relevant Adobe tools.
- A proactive problem-solver with a genuine passion for understanding complex challenges and translating them into user-centric solutions.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and rationale effectively.
Nice-to-Haves:
- No automotive experience is required, but a love for all things cars is always a plus.
- Familiarity with user research platforms and analytics tools (e.g., Maze, UserTesting, Hotjar, Google Analytics, Amplitude).
- Proven experience in rapid prototyping methodologies and tools.
- A strong understanding of data analytics and its application in design decision-making.
- Enthusiasm for and ideally experience with integrating AI into design workflows and product features.
