Job Description

FOX Factory designs, engineers, manufactures, and markets performance-defining products globally. This Product Development Engineer role, supported by senior engineers, focuses on designing and developing new suspension products from 3D modeling to production for Sport Truck USA brands like BDS Suspension, Zone Offroad, JKS Manufacturing, and Baja Kits, based on customer feedback and sales requirements.
Must have:
  • Design and develop new suspension products (control arms, steering knuckles, shocks, ball joints, etc.)
  • Conduct engineering studies on product designs and components
  • Analyze engineering proposals, process requirements, and technical data
  • Utilize computer-assisted engineering software and equipment
  • Analyze data to determine product proposal feasibility
  • Analyze product/equipment specifications and performance requirements
  • Plan and develop experimental test programs
  • Prevent or eliminate defects in new or existing products
  • Analyze test data and reports to ensure design meets specifications
  • Stay updated on technological changes and industry developments
  • Conduct analytical studies on engineering proposals
  • Collaborate with suppliers and manage the procurement process
  • Prepare manufacturing documentation for product production
  • Manage up to five projects concurrently
  • Possess engineering design knowledge
  • Demonstrate time management and prioritization abilities
  • Exhibit data gathering and analysis skills
  • Proficiency in basic programming logic and Microsoft Office
  • Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related area
  • Have 1+ years of experience in product design using engineering design tools

Position Summary:

With assistance from more senior engineers, design and develop new products, from 3D modeling to drawing creation and production implementation, based on customer feedback and sales requirements. Product development position is for Sport Truck USA brands developing product for BDS Suspension, Zone Offroad, JKS Manufacturing, and Baja Kits among other brands.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop new suspension products (control arms, steering knuckles, shocks, ball joints, etc), from 3D modeling and prototyping to drawing creation and production implementation assisted by more senior engineers
  • Conducts engineering studies on design for products, associated and subsystems components, and structures.
  • Analyzes engineering proposals, process requirements, and related technical data pertaining to design.
  • Uses computer-assisted engineering software and equipment.
  • Analyzes data to determine feasibility of product proposal.
  • Analyzes product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine designs that can be produced by existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods.
  • Plans and develops experimental test programs.
  • Prevents or eliminates defects in new or existing products.
  • Analyzes test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.
  • Studies engineering and technical publications to keep abreast of technological changes and developments in industry.
  • Conducts analytical studies on engineering proposals to develop design for products, applicable, equipment, mechanical parts and mechanical functions associated with applicable subsystems components, and structures.
  • Analyzes engineering proposals, process requirements, and related technical data pertaining to industrial manufacturing and parts design.
  • With guidance and direction works with suppliers and the procurement process from development start to hand off.
  • Preparation of manufacturing documentation required for product manufacture
  • Manages up to five projects concurrently

Specific Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required:

  • Engineering design knowledge

  • Data gathering and analysis skills
  • Basic programming logic and Microsoft Office

Position Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related area

Experience:

1+ years of experience in the product design field using engineering design tools

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

Office Environment

Ability to sit for long periods of time

Vision abilities required to validate and enter data on computer
