Job Description

Diligent is seeking a Product Operations Manager to lead embedded analytics across four Business Units. This strategic role involves defining key metrics, ensuring accurate event instrumentation, and translating data into actionable insights. The manager will own the Metrics That Matter (MTM) framework, tracking plan governance, event taxonomy, data quality, and reporting cadence, while coaching a team of embedded analysts. They will collaborate with Product, Engineering, Finance, and GTM teams to ensure data integrity and measurable impact on product outcomes, reporting to the Director of Product Operations.

Must Have:
  • Design and run an embedded analytics operating model across Business Units
  • Define shared standards across product analytics
  • Build a community of practice, playbooks, and peer reviews
  • Define metrics that matter and KPI hierarchies per BU
  • Maintain a companywide event taxonomy and naming conventions
  • Assist team in querying and analysing raw event data using SQL
  • Own tracking plan and schema governance (events, properties, IDs), code-ready specs, versioning, and QA
  • Supervise client/server instrumentation choices and ingestion checks across web and mobile
  • Establish executive and BU scorecards for strategic reporting with automated data flows
  • Ensure qualitative and quantitative reports include interpretation and recommendations for non-technical audiences
  • Oversee product analytics stack (Amplitude, Mixpanel, Pendo) and integrations with data warehouse
  • Take ownership of centralized survey strategy across all BUs
  • Manage and develop a team of product analysts
  • Set cadence (backlog grooming, data reviews), conduct analyses readouts, and raise data literacy
  • 5-7+ years in data analytics, product analytics, product management or adjacent analytics roles
  • Strong SQL skills and comfort working with raw data
  • Experience with tracking plans, event taxonomies, data governance, and instrumentation QA across web and mobile
  • Experience with data modeling/ETL concepts (e.g., dbt, pipelines) and BI (Tableau/Power BI/Looker)
  • Proven ability to translate data into plain English and drive decisions with clear narratives and trade-offs
  • Strong stakeholder management with Product, Engineering, and Finance leaders

Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Product Analytics Manager to join our new Product Operations team and lead our embedded analytics model across our four Business Units (BUs). This role bridges Product Management and data, ensuring we define the right metrics, instrument events correctly, and translate findings into actionable insights. You will own our overall metrics that matter (MTM) framework across all BUs, tracking plan governance, event taxonomy, data quality, and reporting cadence, while coaching a team of embedded analysts aligned to each BU for maximum impact. You’ll partner with Product, Engineering, Finance (BI/BA), and GTM teams to ensure trustworthy data, clear insight narratives, and measurable impact on product outcomes. Reporting directly to the Director of Product Operations, this is a highly strategic role in a newly established team that’s designed for maximum impact.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Operations Model

  • Design and run an embedded analytics operating model across all our Business Units
  • Partner with the Director of Product Operations on orchestrating our strategic rituals (QBRs, Product Summits etc) by ensuring each Community has instant access to the data they need to report with ease and confidence
  • Define our shared standards across product analytics
  • Build a community of practice, playbooks, and peer reviews

Metrics & Governance

  • Work with your analysts and product leaders to define metrics that matter and KPI hierarchies (North Star, input/health metrics) per BU, maintain a companywide event taxonomy and naming conventions.
  • Ensure your team has the mentorship and support to be able to be impactful in their assigned Business Units.

Instrumentation & Data Quality (Center of Excellence)

  • Assist your team in querying and analysing raw event data using SQL, as needed
  • Own the tracking plan and schema governance (events, properties, IDs), code-ready specs, versioning, and QA
  • Supervise client/server instrumentation choices and ingestion checks across web and mobile.

Reporting & Decision Support

  • Establish executive and BU scorecards for strategic reporting, with automated data flows, in partnership with our Business Analytics team
  • Ensure qualitative and quantitative reports your team produces include interpretation and recommendations for non-technical audiences

Tooling & Integration

  • Oversee our entire product analytics stack, ensuring we have the right tools for each Business Unit (Amplitude, Mixpanel, Pendo)
  • Oversee integrations with our data warehouse
  • Take ownership of our centralized survey strategy across all BUs, defining the standards, tools and frequency of results.

Leadership & Coaching
