About the role
As part of our Tax & Accounting division, you’ll join a dynamic and forward-thinking Cloud Platform Team. We’re building the core framework that powers our next-generation cloud products, and we’re looking for a passionate Java Developer to help us shape the future.

Your Responsibilities:
- You will take responsibility for the core framework and core services of our cloud applications based on Java and Microsoft Azure.
- Whether it’s new features and services or improvements to the existing codebase – you’ll work on all aspects as part of a team distributed across Germany.
- You’ll be able to fully leverage your expertise in the skillful interplay of technologies such as Java, Kotlin, PostgreSQL, Redis, and a sophisticated event-sourcing architecture.
- You’ll connect the PostgreSQL cluster (e.g., analyzing the impact of partitioning and version updates in the core framework).
What Excites Us About You:
- Bachelor degree in computer science or a comparable vocational qualification.
- You are fluent in English, German is a plus.
- Deep knowledge in developing with Java in distributed systems as well as in using databases (preferably PostgreSQL).
- Experience working with IaaS/PaaS/FaaS environments from leading cloud providers (preferably Microsoft Azure).
- Using containers for build and test tools as well as productive services is second nature to you.
- Ideally, you already have experience with cloud-native application architectures.
- You have a development background with genuine interest in security, database optimization, messaging, or test automation, combined with a “doer” mentality.
- Your excellent self-organization and ability to coach and further develop a team distinguish you and your approach.
- You also bring a communicative and independent working style.
