The Program Leader – Reman Variance will own a system of best practices to ensure Wabtec remains cost competitive. This role involves forecasting and managing UX variance related costs for assigned sites/components, reporting data to executive managers, and influencing cross-functional teams to deliver results and manage actual repair costs. The UX Variance team focuses on creating a stable foundation for driving cost-out productivity using data and analytics to ensure consistent value.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Finance, or Operations Management
  • Minimum 3 years manufacturing experience
  • Strong understanding of supply chain and shop operations
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
  • Ability to lead and influence cross-functional stakeholders
  • Effective communication and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and conflict resolution skills
  • Responsible for forecasting, reporting, and management of UX variance
  • Develop and maintain reports for fallout rates and material/labor consumption
  • Support annual UX standard cost setting process
  • Identify opportunities for cost out activity and support productivity team
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve transactional accuracy
  • Effectively communicate status, risks, and opportunities to executive leadership
  • Responsible for reporting monthly UX ACO and tracking annual targets
  • Perform routine evaluation of productivity projects

The UX Variance team’s goal is to create a stable foundation for driving cost-out productivity. We use data and analytics to ensure that our operations deliver consistent value to the business.

How will you make a difference?

The Program Leader – Reman Variance is the owner of a system of best practices which contribute to keeping Wabtec cost competitive. They will forecast and manage all UX variance related costs for assigned sites and/or components, frequently reporting this data to executive managers. In this role they will influence cross functional teams, be accountable for delivering results according to targets, and drive actions required to manage actual repair costs.

What do we want to know about you?

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Finance, or Operations Management from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of supply chain and shop operations
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 15% of the time
  • Ability to lead and influence cross-functional stakeholders
  • Effective communication and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and conflict resolution skills

What will your typical day look like?

  • Responsible for forecasting, reporting and management of UX variance for assigned sites
  • Develop and maintain reports to assist with management of fallout rates and provide guidance to operations and materials teams for accurate consumption of material and application of labor to workorders
  • Support annual UX standard cost setting process to ensure accurate product costing in accordance with business policy
  • Identify opportunities for cost out activity and support productivity team to achieve cost out targets
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve transactional accuracy through repair process: labor operation claiming, material consumption
  • Effectively communicate status, risks, and opportunities to executive leadership on a routine basis
  • Responsible for reporting out of monthly UX ACO and tracking towards annual targets for assigned components and impact to Wabtec Freight Services
  • Perform routine evaluation of productivity projects to ensure effectiveness and take action to maximize cost out opportunity
  • You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.
  • Preferred locations for this role are Cleveland, OH; Erie, PA; or Emporium, PA.

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary range for this role is between $77,400.00-$110,300.00
