The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for the implementation of Communication System Projects, acting as the focal point for all project aspects. This role involves leading projects from inception to completion, allocating resources, directing team activities, and overseeing project plan development. The PM manages schedules and budgets to ensure goal attainment, effectively handling quality, cost, and time constraints. They utilize project management tools to analyze complex issues and develop resolutions, maintaining customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
Must have:
  • Lead all aspects of projects for a client, from inception to completion
  • Allocate all necessary resources to meet project objectives and customer satisfaction goals
  • Direct and coordinate the work activities of the project team
  • Oversee development of the complete project plan
  • Manage schedules and budgets to ensure goal attainment
  • Ensure proper management of quality, cost, and time constraints
  • Utilize PM tools to analyze complex issues and develop resolutions
  • Communicate directly with customer’s organization and relevant internal stakeholders
  • Interact extensively with sales, systems engineering, product development and other members of cross-functional teams
Good to have:
  • Project management certification
  • Understanding of two-way radio / cellular infrastructure communications products, services, and systems
  • Familiarity with the technology industry with experience in Public Safety communications systems, Military communications, Enterprise Software or IT Networks
  • Understanding of local public safety customers, such as police, fire, and emergency medical services

Job Description

Project Manager (PM) is responsible for the implementation of Communication System Projects and will act and be recognized as the focal point for all aspects of assigned project(s). The PM is responsible for delivering the contractual scope, on schedule and within budget, while maintaining customer satisfaction.

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Leads all aspects of projects for a client, from inception to completion.
  • Responsible for allocating all necessary resources to meet project objectives, and customer satisfaction goals.
  • Directs and coordinates the work activities of project team.
  • Oversees development of the complete project plan.
  • Manages schedules and budgets to ensure goal attainment.
  • Ensures that the three constraints (quality, cost and time) that face every project are properly managed.
  • Utilizes PM tools (schedule, critical path analysis, budget, change order, risk assessment, action item log, etc.) to analyze complex issues and develop resolutions for any issues related to assigned project(s).
  • Responsible for direct communication to customer’s organization and relevant stakeholders internally by conducting project reviews throughout the life of the project.
  • Involved in extensive interaction with sales, systems engineering, product development and other members of cross-functional teams.
  • May work at client site from time to time.
  • Project management skills, rather than technical skills, are key, but a strong technical background is often required to manage competing interests.

Additional Skills:

  • Project management certification, highly desired.
  • Understanding of two-way radio / cellular infrastructure communications products, services, and systems.
  • Familiarity with the technology industry with experience in one of the following highly desirable: Public Safety communications systems, Military communications, Enterprise Software or IT Networks.
  • Understanding of local public safety customers, such as police, fire, and emergency medical services is a plus.
  • Demonstrates a firm understanding of all areas of PMBOK project management.
  • Demonstrated delivery track record in a large, complex enterprise environment.
  • Computer literacy; familiarity with Project management software and other common business software.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to develop and maintain business relationships with various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • Customer service focus and positive “can do” attitude.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 3+ years of project management or engineering experience,
  • OR 5+ years of project management or engineering experience
