Job Description

A Proofreader at Hogarth is responsible for meticulously proofreading a high volume of marketing materials and brand communications, including packaging, in-store signage, e-commerce content, and brand guidelines. This role ensures brand quality and consistency across thousands of print and digital deliverables, working closely with editors and legal, production, and project marketing teams to maintain accuracy and integrity.
Must have:
  • Ensure brand quality and consistency across print and digital mechanicals.
  • Proofread marketing collateral: signs, product pages, marketing guides.
  • Maintain brand excellence, highest quality, and confidentiality.
  • Perform QA/QC checks beyond grammar.
  • Work proficiently with Adobe Acrobat.
  • Act as keeper of brand guidelines for major brands.
  • Provide precise and timely proofreading for all deliverables.
  • Communicate with offshore teams and Project Managers.
  • 4+ years in editing/copyediting/proofreading marketing/advertising content.
  • Experience with large-scale professional services or complex B2B.
  • Excellent communication and diplomatic skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, focus, and adaptability.
  • Experience with global brands.
  • Ability to work with offshore QA teams.
  • Understand production process, brand channel, retail, interactive, packaging.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Navigate complex processes and specialized ticketing systems.
  • Flexible during high-volume periods, including weekends.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, Fido, iWork.

What does a Proofreader do at Hogarth?

Proofreads a high volume of marketing materials and brand communications, including product packaging, in-store signage for retail and channel partners, e-commerce, and brand guidelines. Works closely with editors and the legal, production, and project marketing teams to ensure accuracy and integrity across all deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring brand quality and consistency across thousands of print and digital mechanicals distributed to global partners
  • Proofreading marketing collateral, such as comparison signs, collections signs, product pages, features pages, and marketing guides
  • Dedication to brand excellence and to maintaining the highest level of quality and confidentiality
  • Ability to check specs beyond grammar sharing some QA/QC responsibilities
  • Work within Adobe Acrobat or other linked pending review
  • Be the keeper on brand guidelines for major national and global brands
  • Pricise proofreading for all deliverables in a timely manner
  • Communicate with offshore teams and PMs to transfer work through design, proofreading, QA and delivery

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in a dedicated editing/copyediting/proofreading role, handling marketing, advertising, and technical content
  • Essential experience working with large-scale professional services firms, global consultancies, financial institutions, or comparable complex B2B environments
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to work diplomatically in a dynamic, confidential studio environment
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to focus, prioritize, and pivot in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working for global brands
  • Ability to work with offshore QA teams
  • An understanding of the production process and of brand channel, retail, interactive, and packaging practices
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle concurrent projects, track milestones, manage active deadlines, advance deliverables, and find solutions to daily challenges
  • Able to navigate complex processes and tools, including a specialized ticketing system to edit and route deliverables
  • Flexible during high-volume periods (longer hours and weekends) and able to adapt and assimilate immediately if called on to work for a few hours within an environment of constant change, simultaneous projects, and shifting priorities and timelines
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat and Photoshop, Fido, and iWork
