Apple is seeking a Quality Engineer to join the Hardware Technologies Tools and Process team. This role involves automating testing and verifying web applications used for operational needs. The responsibilities include expanding the quality program with more automation, maintaining high software quality by collaborating with developers, and identifying future growth areas for the team. The engineer will also gain exposure to various internal Apple software and services, developing custom solutions to address gaps and business needs. This position impacts teams across all product lines and transforms how people work at Apple. The engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing comprehensive test strategies and automated test scripts to ensure the quality and reliability of Tools and Process applications and their ecosystem. They will work closely with developers on applications written in Python and Javascript, from developing new test cases to optimizing existing ones and ensuring the scalability of testing processes.
Must have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- 4+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer
- Proficiency in Python and Javascript testing
- Working knowledge of SQL
- Experience creating comprehensive test plans
Good to have:
- Experience with cloud deployment (Kubernetes on AWS)
- Experience with Django and React
- Experience working on an internal tools team
- Knowledge of testing frameworks (PyTest, Playwright, Jenkins, Jira)

Apple is seeking a Quality Engineer to join the Hardware Technologies Tools and Process team to automate testing and verify the web applications that are used for operational needs for the organization. This role is responsible for expanding our quality program to introduce more automation, maintain a high bar for quality with the software that is created by collaborating with our developers and staying ahead of the curve by identifying the future areas of growth for quality for the team. Additionally, this role has broad exposure to multiple areas as the team uses Apple's internal software and services, and develops custom solutions to address gaps and novel business needs. These tools and processes provide support across the organization and impact teams involved in all product lines and transforming the way people work at Apple. We are seeking a proactive and driven new member of our Tools and Process Team - join us!At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $135,400 and $250,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing comprehensive test strategies and automated test scripts to ensure the quality and reliability of the Tools and Process applications and ecosystem. You will work closely with developers to test and verify our applications which are written in Python and Javascript. Your role will involve everything from developing new test cases to optimizing existing test suites and ensuring the reliability and scalability of our testing processes.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- 4+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer, with a strong portfolio of test automation projects
- Proficiency in Python and Javascript testing, with a solid understanding of their ecosystems and best practices for testing
- Working knowledge of SQL, including designing test data and writing complex test queries
- Experience taking a feature specifications and creating a comprehensive test plan for them
- Experience with cloud deployment, particularly Kubernetes on AWS
- Experience with Django and React
- Experience working on an internal tools team
- Knowledge of testing frameworks and tools such as PyTest, Playwright, Jenkins, and Jira
