Job Description

Lambda is seeking a Research Engineer for Post-Training Evaluations to join their team. This role involves defining and implementing rigorous, reproducible methodologies for the core model evaluation suite, collaborating with post-training researchers to refine models for research and production, and partnering with engineering and product teams to translate research insights into product features. The ideal candidate will be an ML engineer with deep, hands-on experience in model evaluation or post-training, a strong understanding of LLMs and multimodal models, and thrive in collaborative, cross-functional teams. What You’ll Do

  • Define and implement rigorous, reproducible methodologies for our core model evaluation suite.

  • Collaborate with post-training researchers to refine and enhance models for both research and production. 

  • Partner with engineering and product teams to translate research insights into product features.

You 

  • ML engineer with deep, hands-on experience in model evaluation or post-training. 

  • Strong understanding of LLMs and multimodal models.

  • Thrive in collaborative, cross-functional teams.

Nice to Have

  • Contributions to relevant open-source projects.

  • Publications in top ML conferences.   

Salary Range Information 

Based on market data and other factors, the annual salary range for this position is $185,000 to $275,000. However, a salary higher or lower than this range may be appropriate for a candidate whose qualifications differ meaningfully from those listed in the job description.
