Job Description

The Resettlement Associate provides critical support to the Resettlement Team, primarily through direct client services. This includes assistance navigating health care, the Department of Social Services and other community resources, as well as individual coaching to help clients meet the goals of their service plans. The role is for individuals passionate about justice and supporting vulnerable populations, aligning with World Relief's mission to engage global crises in partnership with the church, building a world where families thrive and communities flourish.
Must have:
  • Commitment to World Relief's mission, vision, and values.
  • Provide case support to newly arrived refugees.
  • Assist refugees in navigating appointments and community resources.
  • Provide transportation for essential appointments.
  • Offer individual coaching on self-sufficiency and integration.
  • Perform administrative tasks: online applications, case files, notes, data entry.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and ability to transport clients.
  • Supervise others, including monitoring work, approving timesheets, and performance.
Good to have:
  • Associate degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • 6 months’ minimum experience in refugee resettlement

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Resettlement Associate provides critical support to the Resettlement Team, primarily through direct client services. This includes assistance navigating health care, the Department of Social Services and other community resources, as well as individual coaching to help clients meet the goals of their service plans.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This role is responsible for supervising others and includes responsibilities consistent with supervising employees, including but not limited to monitoring daily work activities, tracking and approving timesheets including approving time off, monitoring performance including entering goals, progress check-ins, and weekly or bi-weekly check-ins, documenting performance concerns, entering staff promotions, transitions, and separations in HRIS within required time frame. Managers at World Relief are also considered spiritual leaders and are expected to lead staff in a manner consistent with our Christian values, including but not limited to praying with staff, leading devotionals, and fostering a Christian environment in interactions with staff throughout World Relief.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief
  • Provide case support to newly arrived refugees, under the supervision of Preferred Communities case workers.
  • Assist newly arrived refugees to navigate appointments and community resources.
  • Provide transportation to/from essential appointments.
  • Provide individual coaching to refugees on a variety of topics related to self-sufficiency and integration.
  • Administrative tasks, including completing online applications, maintaining case files, recording case notes and data entry.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to transport clients to appointments

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • 6 months’ minimum experience in refugee resettlement
