As a SAP Project Manager at PwC, you will be responsible for the overall delivery of the SAP program. You will be overseeing the implementation of SAP S/4HANA, ensuring alignment with business requirements, leading workshops, ensuring system integration, data migration, testing, and issue resolution throughout the project lifecycle. Furthermore, you will create detailed project plans, coordinate resources, manage risks, lead project teams, and communicate with stakeholders. You will be expected to provide regular status updates and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
Must have:
  • SAP project/programme implementation experience
  • Experience in S/4HANA implementations
  • Experience in Agile delivery in SAP projects
  • Understanding of IT related technologies
  • Strong SAP systems knowledge.
Good to have:
  • Experience in a consulting environment is beneficial
  • Understanding of SAP Cloud product roadmap

PwC is looking for a SAP Project Manager to join our Cloud & Digital practice.  A SAP Project Manager is overall responsible for the delivery of the SAP programme. 

The ideal candidate would have a strong SAP technical background and 8+ years proven experience in the implementation of SAP cloud technology enabled business transformation projects and programmes. Experience in S/4HANA implementations is recommended.

Qualifications / Certifications required:

  • Bachelor equivalent: minimum requirement
  • Project/Programme Management certification (PMP/Prince2)
  • SAP Certification - SAP Certified Associate - Project Manager - SAP Activate or SAP Certified Specialist - Project Manager - SAP Activate for Agile Implementation Management

Experience required:

  • More than 8 years of SAP project/programme implementation experience
  • Experience and knowledge of SAP system migration or upgrades
  • Experience in S/4HANA implementations recommended
  • Experience in Agile delivery in SAP projects
  • Understanding of IT related technologies that enable digital transformation
  • Previous experience in a consulting environment is beneficial
  • Understanding of SAP roadmap around Cloud products and how it integrates
  • Cloud experience recommended

Responsibilities of role:

  • Develop Project Plans: Create detailed project plans outlining timelines, milestones, and deliverables
  • Resource Allocation: Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for project execution
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies
  • Lead Project Teams: Direct and motivate project teams to ensure project deliverables are achieved
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain effective communication with stakeholders, providing regular project updates
  • SAP S/4HANA Implementation: Oversee the implementation of SAP S/4HANA, ensuring alignment with business requirements
  • Fit-to-Standard Workshops: Lead workshops to align business processes with SAP best practices
  • System Integration: Ensure seamless integration of SAP S/4HANA with existing systems
  • Data Migration: Oversee data migration activities, ensuring data integrity and accuracy
  • Testing and Validation: Coordinate testing phases to validate system functionality and performance
  • Issue Resolution: Address and resolve any issues that arise during the project lifecycle
  • Project Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including progress reports and technical specifications
  • Status Reporting: Provide regular status updates to stakeholders and executive sponsors
  • Participate in programme Design Authority forums

Skill sets required:

  • Technical Proficiency: Understanding of SAP solutions, Cloud Platforms, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders
  • Leadership: Ability to lead and mentor teams, providing technical guidance and support
  • Adaptability: Willingness to stay updated with the latest data technologies and adapt to new challenges

Role related attributes:

  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of SAP systems, particularly SAP S/4HANA and SAP BTP.
  • Facilitation: Excellent leadership, collaboration and influence skills
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
  • Experience in large-scale projects and teams and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams

  • Cross-industry experience preferred
