This role is within the Oncology WGS Assay Development group, focusing on developing NGS-based clinical applications. The Scientist I will perform lab experiments, analyze data, and maintain equipment to support new product and process development. Key responsibilities include executing complex experiments, contributing ideas, assembling data, and communicating results effectively. A background in molecular techniques and strong organizational skills are highly desirable.

As part of the Oncology WGS Assay Development group, you will work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment and participate in the development of NGS-based clinical applications. You will support assay development by performing lab experiments, analyzing data, and maintaining lab equipment and supplies to develop new products and processes. A strong background in molecular techniques (NGS preferred, but not required), strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment are highly desirable.

Position Responsibilities:

Position Requirements:

  • Possesses a university level understanding of the scientific principles and laboratory experience (equivalent to Bachelor’s degree); working towards mastery of relevant subject matter
  • Able to draw sound conclusions from general experiment data sets
  • Can interpret results to form conclusions and suggest next steps with guidance from other scientists
  • Uses advanced analytical instrumentation independently to collect data (examples include workstation equipment, Illumina instruments, third party analytical instrumentation, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of statistical significance, replicates, controls
  • Communicate with colleagues and supervisors effectively through email, presentations, written reports or in meetings to support decision-making All listed requirements are deemed as essential functions to this position; however, business conditions may require reasonable accommodations for additional task and responsibilities.

Experience/Education:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 0-2 years of related experience; or equivalent work experience.

The estimated base salary range for the Scientist I, Oncology WGS Assay Dev Dept role based in the United States of America is: $61,700 - $92,500. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
