This exciting opportunity is for a Secure Area Administrator within Rolls-Royce's Defence Aerospace business in Bristol. Reporting to the Security Facilities Operations Manager, you will support the daily operation and maintenance of Secure Areas, ensuring personnel, physical, and information security. The role involves working with key stakeholders to deliver programme requirements, contributing to the Defence Combat strategy. You will define and deploy best practices for security processes, support aftercare administration for individuals with National Security Vetting, and uphold security controls through monitoring and audits. The role requires agility to handle varied administrative tasks, from logistics to risk mitigation, all related to security activities.
Must have:
  • Support programme and security teams as a recognised practitioner for Secure Area business operations.
  • Define and deploy best practice for security processes, techniques, and tools.
  • Support aftercare administration for individuals holding National Security Vetting.
  • Uphold standards, operations, monitoring, and audits of Secure Area security controls.
  • Demonstrate agility to support administrative requests, including logistics, coordination, and process improvements.

Job Details

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Secure Area Administrator to join our Defence Aerospace business in Bristol.

In this role, you will report directly to Security Facilities Operations Manager and will support in the daily operation and maintenance of our Secure Areas (e.g., personnel, physical and information security). Working with a range of key business stakeholders, you will enable the delivery of key programme requirements thus enabling the delivery of our Defence Combat strategy for the next 50 years.

What you will be doing:

With this exciting opportunity you will get a chance to:

  • Support the programme and security teams as a recognised practitioner and point of contact for our Secure Area business operations.
  • Defining and deploying best practice for security processes, techniques, and tools, focused on effective security management, requirements, and guidance.
  • Support the aftercare administration for individuals holding a National Security Vetting
  • In collaboration with our wider security team, uphold standards, operations, monitoring, and audits of Secure Area security controls.
  • Demonstrate exceptional agility to support with administrative requests to enable your teammates to succeed. Tasks will be varied, from logistics, coordination, administration, process improvements through to action planning and risk mitigation, all related to our security activities.

  • An experienced administrator who is happy to focus on broad administrative tasks, demonstrates accurate record keeping, and has proficiency in Windows, Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
  • An excellent communicator effective at building relationships at all levels, comfortable in dealing with teammates, partners suppliers or customers.
  • Able to assemble, analyse and manage data to support our security organisation using the data to uphold high standards whilst identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Preferably experienced in handling Government classified assets.

This role will require you to hold a Developed Vetting (DV). To start, you will require a minimum Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don’t currently already have this in place. Due to the nature of work the business conducts and the protection of certain assets, you must hold a UK nationality. Any dual nationals will require additional scrutiny and background checks prior to commencing work.
