ANSYS, Inc. is seeking a Senior Application Engineer to join their team in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This role involves leading technical activities throughout the sales opportunity lifecycle, including discovery, negotiating success criteria, and conducting presentations and demonstrations. The engineer will work within multi-disciplinary teams, interacting with customers to understand their product design needs and engineering workflows. Responsibilities include articulating the value proposition of Ansys products, creating differentiating simulation solutions, and deploying them within customer workflows. The position also requires developing expertise as a subject matter and industry expert, collaborating with product development teams to translate customer requirements into new features, and testing new Ansys product releases on industrial problems. Additionally, the role supports field and digital marketing, involves authoring conference presentations, and contributing to consulting services and training classes.
Must have:
  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering or related field, and 3 years of experience OR Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent and 5 years of experience.
  • Experience with Ansys software or other CAE, CAD, EDA, or PLM software.
  • Experience using Ansys Electromagnetic tools.
  • Experience designing or analyzing electric machines using magnetic finite element analysis simulation.
  • Simulation experience with magnetic actuators, sensors, transformers, wireless charging, or power electronics.
  • Experience simulating and explaining power loss and efficiency in electric machines.
  • Experience using simulation to improve device or system performance.
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 25%.

SUMMARY
ANSYS, Inc. seeks Senior Application Engineer to work in Ann Arbor, MI

RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Lead in coordinating and executing all technical activities throughout the sales opportunity lifecycle such as technical discovery, negotiate technical success criteria, product presentations, demonstrations and evaluations. 
•    Work independently within multi-disciplinary teams. 
•    Interact with customers to understand their product design needs and engineering design workflows; 
•    analyze how to address customers’ requirements using Ansys products and platform, articulate Ansys’ value proposition. 
•    Assist in creating differentiating simulation solutions using the Ansys platform and products;
•    deploy the solutions within customers’ design workflows. 
•    Develop competence as a subject matter expert and industry expert. 
•    Collaborate with the Ansys product development teams to translate customer requirements into exciting new product features; 
•    test new releases of Ansys products on industrial problems, develop application best practices.
•    Support Ansys field and digital marketing, author conference presentations. 
•    Contribute to consulting services, conduct introductory and/or intermediate training classes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
•    Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical, Chemical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, or a related field of study, and three (3) years of experience in a related position. 
•    Alternate Acceptable Education and Work Experience Requirement: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical, Chemical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, or a related field of study, and five (5) years of experience in in a related position. 
•    Work experience or academic coursework must have included: 
•    Experience with Ansys software or knowledge of other commercial CAE, CAD, EDA, or PLM software packages; 
•    Experience using Ansys Electromagnetic tools in the Ansys Electronics Desktop; 
•    Experience with designing or analyzing electric machines using magnetic finite element analysis simulation; 
•    Simulation experience with magnetic actuators, magnetic sensors, transformers, wireless charging, or power electronics; 
•    Experience simulating and explaining power loss and efficiency in different types of electric machines; 
•    Experience using simulation to improve device or system performance, using various optimization or design of experiments techniques. 
•    Ability to travel domestically up to 25% of time
•    Additional location information: Telecommuting permitted with commuting distance to Ann Arbor, MI. In office at least 3 days a week.
