Summary (About this Position): The Aptiv North America Connection Systems (NA CS) team has an exciting opportunity for an experienced, highly motivated Application Engineer to support the commercial/specialty vehicle market. The successful candidate will be the face of Aptiv engineering within their assigned customers, while pursuing new business opportunities to increase Aptiv component penetration, and providing Voice of the Customer (VoC) feedback to our internal engineering teams. Responsibilities: * Identify and evaluate new component business opportunities through customer interaction and communication * Capture and understand customer requirements for new product applications (technical, timing, validation, etc.) and communicate to the internal organization * Serve as “Voice of the Customer” (VoC) * Define vehicle applications * Support internal quote process (i.e. F3X, Pre-PXRB, PXRB) * Support internal and customer reviews (i.e. Design Reviews, Customer Technical Reviews, Customer Component Evaluation, Vehicle Packaging Review, etc.) * Provide customer pre-launch/launch support * Provide customer formal and open issue tracking * Support customer and internal change management (technical details, coordination, timing, etc.) * Ability and willingness to travel as needed (less than 25%) * Ensure compliance with customer specific requirements Must Haves (i.e. Basic Qualifications): * Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering OR an Associate’s Degree + 10 years of experience * 3+ years of experience automotive connection systems experience including Housings, Terminals and High Speed Cable Assemblies * 3 + years of experience with wiring design or manufacturing * 3+ years of experience in commercial/specialty vehicle including Class 6-8 Trucks, construction and agricultural vehicles Nice to Haves (i.e. Preferred Qualifications): * Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering * Previous experience with the design and manufacturing of injection molded plastics and stamped metal * Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Project, Excel, Outlook, Skype, Visio, etc.) * Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization * Strong results-orientation and execution characteristics * Excellent oral and written communication skills with a strong ability to work with a team * Ability to effectively organize, prioritize and accomplish multiple conflicting tasks, make intelligent, timely decisions and solve problems independently * Resourcefully innovate and adapt in a rapidly changing environment
