Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize the data infrastructure that powers our Near Real Time Processing. You will play a key role in developing scalable data systems, mentoring junior engineers, and partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, high-quality data.
Must have:
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Build robust data models and warehouses to support analytics and reporting.
  • Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and governance frameworks.
  • Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and software engineers.
  • Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Partner with product and business stakeholders to understand data needs.
  • Optimize database queries and data pipelines for performance and cost efficiency.
  • Ensure high availability and reliability of data infrastructure.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering.
  • Strong expertise in SQL and data modeling.
  • Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and modern data stacks (Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Redshift).
  • Hands-on experience with distributed data systems (Spark, Kafka, Flink).
  • Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.
Good to have:
  • Background in building data platforms at scale.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Exposure to machine learning workflows and MLOps practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to communicate complex ideas clearly.

  • Collaboration & Leadership
  • Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and software engineers to ensure smooth data flow across systems.
  • Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to best practices.
  • Partner with product and business stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into solutions.
  • Performance & Optimization
  • Optimize database queries and data pipelines for performance and cost efficiency.
  • Ensure high availability and reliability of data infrastructure.
  • Stay up to date with emerging data engineering technologies and evaluate their applicability.

Qualifications

  • Required:
  • 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering or related field.
  • Strong expertise in SQL and data modeling.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Java, or Scala).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and modern data stacks (Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Redshift, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with distributed data systems (Spark, Kafka, Flink, or similar).
  • Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.
  • Preferred:
  • Background in building data platforms at scale.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation).

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to communicate complex ideas clearly.

Benefits and Compensation listed vary based on the location of your employment and the nature of your employment. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Corporate Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission, along with potential eligibility for equity participation. We maintain broad salary ranges for its roles to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect differing products, industries, and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity. We estimate the base salary, for US-based employees, will be in this range from (min-mid-max, USD):

$105,500 - $150,700 - $195,900

Base salaries for employees based in other locations are competitive for the employee’s home location.
