Summary

The role of Senior Director IT PMO is a critical role in the company’s corporate information technology (IT) function, and requires experience and expertise in managing people, processes, and technology related to programs, projects, and IT strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess expert skills in program and project management and be readily equipped to provide hands-on leadership over numerous global and complex work efforts. Additionally, the candidate must have significant experience establishing governance principles, management frameworks, and structured project methodologies to increase consistency and successful project implementation across a matrix organization. Finally, the Director IT PMO must have experience leading an organizational transition to becoming more agile.

What you'll do

Project/People Leadership

  • Possess experience and capabilities in leading programs, projects, and work efforts following best practice methodologies.
  • Identify project, program, and portfolio priorities, deal with challenges and communicate project risks and opportunities.
  • Monitor projects, programs, and portfolios to ensure compliance with project policies and standards as well as keeping to schedules, budgets and quality expectations.
  • Drive operational excellence to improve performance, maximize value, reduce waste, and increase efficiencies.
  • Champion an agile mindset, effective change management processes, and innovation.
  • Exhibit fluency in project methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scaled Agile, Lean / Six Sigma, Waterfall, etc.), and flexibility in portfolio and project management tools and rely upon approaches that best-fit project method and tools to project requirements.
  • Create and deliver executive-level presentations to various stakeholders on project status and the performance of the PMO.
  • Manage multi-million-dollar IT Project Budget.
  • Lead, manage, coach, and mentor team of Program Managers and Project Managers comprised of both employees and contractors working in numerous offices and remotely to ensure successful project delivery.

Planning and Governance Management

  • Create a PMO center of excellence that aligns with Project Management guidelines, quality standards, and company strategy.
  • Develop and manage flexible and efficient IT governance models, tools, and processes with the capability to continuously roll out improvements.
  • Drive effective project and portfolio management including regular operations reviews and steering committees.
  • Create regular reporting and dashboards for Business and IT stakeholders.

Strategic Partnering and Relationship Management

  • Partner with all areas of IT as well as Aristocrat Sales, Marketing, Services, Global Supply Chain, Compliance, Finance, and Product Groups, to ensure clearly defined project objectives, collaborative delivery, and joint accountability.
  • Partner with business leadership to plan new joint initiatives, evaluate proposals, and determine the most appropriate delivery model for each work effort.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred in business administration, communications, computer science, project management, engineering, or related project management undergraduate course of study; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • PMP, CSM, and SAFE certifications are preferred.
  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of direct (hands-on) project and program management experience.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years running an IT PMO organization and managing Project Managers.
  • Experience monitoring and evaluating projects, programs and portfolios.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and management of high-performing teams.
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring, coaching and motivating team members.
  • Working knowledge of modern program and portfolio management and tools (e.g. Smartsheet; ADO, etc.)
  • Experience in multiple project methodologies to include Waterfall, Agile, SAFe Agile, and Hybrid approaches.
  • Expert knowledge of project governance and change management techniques and processes.
  • Extensive experience creating, managing, tracking, and reporting on a multi-million-dollar budget.
  • Excellent project management skills including experience in planning, executing, tracking, and reporting on all sizes of projects.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to deal with ambiguity, and remain effective and positive under pressure.
  • Excellent communicator and team builder, able to cultivate and maintain relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Experience with vendor management.
