General Summary:

Designs and develops technologies related to the next generation AI systems targeted at the human senses or machine perception.

These technologies include speech, audio, imaging, computer vision, display, sensing, biometrics, and augmented/virtual reality.

Understands high level goals of the next generation AI system and perform functional decomposition to drive requirements for implementation into hardware or software.

Performs system analysis and uses simulation modeling to propose algorithmic or system modifications that enable optimization of performance and power.

Preferred Qualifications:

•    Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

•    4+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.  

•    2+ years of experience working in machine learning technology used for Multimedia technologies (i.e., speech, audio, imaging, computer vision, sensing, biometrics, augmented/virtual reality).  

. Expertise in low level machine learning libraries such as CUDA, Triton

. Proficiency in machine learning frameworks, such as Pytorch, tensorflow

. Proficiency in numerical analysis for machine learning

. strong C++ and Python coding skills

. Experience working on embedded platforms and devices including CPUs, GPUs, NPUs and DSPs.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Designs and implements cutting-edge AI/ML features by developing systems-level software and hardware for machine learning systems.

. Contributes to behavioral modeling of the systems using C++ and python

. Identifies design constraints and tradeoffs and makes recommendations to resolve issues to produce innovative solutions.

. Develops software drivers to maps various AI/ML workloads to run efficiently on the designed system

. helps to define the test plan to collect data on accuracy, reliability, performance, power, and robustness of design;

• Develops test environment and test cases to verify the design of a well-defined component;

• Uses appropriate tools to conduct common analyses of software and hardware design.

• Collaborate with software, hardware and machine learning algorithm teams to design products that meet internal and/or external customer requirements and standards.

• Completes complex tasks and solves issues related to the project with minimal guidance from more experienced engineers.

• Conducts complex experiments to train and evaluate machine learning models independently.

• Contributes to technical conversations and documentation (e.g., white papers, schematics, FDD, HLDR);

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted.
