Why is this role important to us:
As a Senior Engineering Manager (EM), you will play a pivotal role in modernizing and operating our engineering platform. The platform scales to support 100+ teams working on a cloud technology transformation. This journey involves enabling automated deployment capabilities, enhancing UI and API experience for internal and external stakeholders, supporting SimCorp One vision. As an EM, you will lead a cross-organizational effort, collaborating with product, architecture, and services teams to ensure the engineering platform supports various product deliveries and technology enablers.
What you will be responsible for:
As an EM you will be responsible for leading 2 software development teams and reporting to Head of Service Orchestration.
You are the leader of 2 teams of Software Engineers with responsibility for hiring, growing, and upskilling your team through 1:1s, feedback, mentoring, coaching, and goal setting. Facilitate agile team processes and help remove impediments that block the team’s progress. Working with stakeholders across the organization to ensure that the team's work is aligned with the overall business strategy. You understand and define relevant engineering KPIs to gain insights into your team’s performance and to help drive improvement, for example in product quality, security, delivery, system performance etc. Staying up to date with the latest developments in engineering and technology, and advising the organization on new tools, techniques, and strategies that can improve engineering processes and outcomes.
Overall, an EM plays a crucial role in leading and guiding the teams within SimCorp, ensuring that teams are well-positioned to support the SimCorp’s goals and objectives.
What we value:
You are an engineer at heart, with a passion for improving things – whether that is people, process, or technology.
Conceptual understanding of TDD and Agile practices (Scrum and Kanban).
You have a degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science or similar.
Experience working in an international setting with people from different cultures and time zones to ensure smooth collaboration.
Excellent communication skills and fluency in English (speaking and writing).
