Responsibilities include designing, building, and running complex insight engineering solutions related to software metrics, integrating with key tech-stack applications, and developing data analytics and visualization solutions using Microsoft Fabric Platform capabilities. The specialist will also translate customer needs into software applications, contribute to continuous improvement, and apply a continuous learning mindset.
Must have:
- Expertise in Microsoft Fabric, Power Platform, and related technologies.
- Experience with data integrations using various tools like SonarQube and JIRA.
- Strong knowledge of Software Engineering Dev ops Practices and Agile methodologies.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Good to have:
- Experience in AI and ML model design and implementation.
- Ability to gather, preprocess, and manage data for AI and ML algorithms.

Responsibilities:
As a Senior Software Engineer-Insights, you apply broad knowledge and technical know-how in the Software Engineering domain to deliver the following responsibilities:
- Design, build, and run multiple complex insight engineering solutions related to E2E software metrics cutting across Code Quality, Code Merge, Code Build, Testing, Agile Delivery, Code Deployment, and Operations.
- Design, build and run multiple API & Batch integrations with key tech-stack applications, viz-a-viz, SonarQube, GitLab, Azure DevOps, JIRA, Zephyr, BMC Remedy, New Relic etc.
- Design, build and run multiple data analytics and visualisation solutions using Microsoft Fabric Platform capabilities.
- Design, build and run multiple business solutions using Microsoft Power Platform - Power Apps, Power Automate etc.
- Consistently write production-ready code that can be used as examples of best practice by other engineers by being easily testable and understood, and accounts for edge cases and errors.
- Provide subject matter expertise with testing-related system of work Jira templates design, helping the Telstra Ways of Working group drive standardisation across the organisation.
- Use in-depth understanding of Telstra landscape, ecosystem, to rapidly synthesize the requirement, and deliver the effective solutions.
- Aid engineering teams managing COTS/SaaS (e.g., Salesforce, Azure DevOps) applications to integrate with key tech-stack applications to capture respective software metrics.
- Empower and support stakeholders across the organisation to adopt Software metrics by providing subject matter expertise to influence the adoption.
- Develop innovative software that maintains data/network security management, leveraging set processes to reduce the time to production.
- Translate customer needs into leading-edge software application products, services or systems that meet Telstra’s time, cost, and quality standards.
- Seek diverse viewpoints from colleagues in your team and apply analytical thinking to resolve complex problems that don’t have an immediate or ‘tried-and-tested’ solution.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives of our systems and processes, apply ‘best practice’ corporate testing standards and our quality assurance approach to drive improved outcomes (e.g., productivity, customer experience and/or profitability)
- Apply a continuous learning and development mindset to your work, using tried and tested methodologies but also finding opportunities to experiment to incrementally improve or resolve challenges.
- Take ownership of your own actions and seek guidance from more experienced engineers to support your development and contribute to the delivery of team/mission outcomes.
Essential Skills:
Proven Technical Expertise in
- Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Power Platform, Dataflows, Dataverse, Power Automate, Power BI, Power Apps
- React
- Database Technologies – MySQL, Oracle, Cloud
Prior experience of data Integrations with SonarQube, GitLab, Bitbucket, JIRA, Zephyr,
Azure DevOps, Power BI, New Relic
Certified in Microsoft Fabric/Power platforms
Implementation experience in
DORA – Software Delivery Performance Metrics, Flow Framework – Value Stream
Metrics, CICD Metrics, Quality Metrics
Very strong in Software Engineering Dev ops Practices, Dev ops Toolchains, Applying
relevant agile practices
Ability to drive Continuous Improvement with multiple teams based on metrics
Strong Experience in defining best practices and improvement strategies based on
metrics
Knowledge on industry standards, best practices on how to effectively use Insights to
empower an organization.
Strong communication/presentation skills, Growth/Learning mindset, Problem Solving,
Team player
Desirable Skills:
Design and implement AI and ML models and algorithms
Gather, preprocess, and manage data required for AI and ML algorithms
