Job Description

Liquid Development, founded in 2000, is the largest outsourcing art studio in North America, known for its collaborative and creative environment. They are seeking a Senior Lighting Artist to handle high-quality real-time lighting for environments, manage lighting integrity, troubleshoot production issues, and optimize art production. The role involves working with Unreal Engine and 3DS Max on AAA titles. The studio contributes to major franchises like Halo, Mass Effect, Borderlands, and Call of Duty.
Must have:
  • Handle environment lighting from pre-production to final polish.
  • Manage and ensure lighting integrity on all assets.
  • Troubleshoot and solve lighting production issues.
  • Maximize art production performance and predictability.
  • Stay current on industry trends and techniques.

We're seeking a talented Senior Lighting Artist to carry high quality real-time lighting of environments. Candidates must be able to demonstrate a deep understanding of lighting principals with a strong technical aptitude working in Unreal Engine and 3DS Max. In return, you will be part of an experienced, creative, and supportive team working on various AAA titles!

Some of the cool stuff you'll be doing:

  • Handle lighting of environment spaces through from pre-production to final polish 
  • Help to manage and ensure the integrity of lighting on all assets 
  • Capably troubleshoot and solve lighting production issues 
  • Strive to maximize art production performance and predictability 
  • Stays current on industry trends and techniques, evaluating competitive products, and continually learning new software packages.

Liquid Development played a huge part in Tiny Tina's 3D environments, 3D weapon and props designs, and more! After collaborating half a decade with 343 Industries to bring this title to life, Liquid Development is humbled to have had the opportunity to make much of the games armors, characters, creatures, hair, weapons, props, level design, and VFX. Regarded as the spiritual successor to the Left 4 Dead series, Back 4 Blood was a survival horror FPS development by long-time Liquid Development client Turtle Rock Studios. Liquid Development created extensive 3D environments and props, and our 2D department design beautiful trading cards.
