This Senior Materials Planner position at Wabtec's Services area, specifically for the MSA Rumo contract in Contagem, MG, involves a hybrid work model. The role is crucial for planning and supplying materials, ensuring the continuity of client maintenance activities and operational excellence. Responsibilities include daily monitoring of operations, analyzing material availability, managing material requisitions via Oracle MRP, prioritizing supply, analyzing reports and indicators, and implementing process improvements. The planner will also manage annual forecasts, inventory, and ensure compliance with safety standards, fostering team collaboration for continuous improvement.
Must have:
  • Graduation in Production, Electrical, Mechanical, Automation Control, Logistics or Administration engineering.
  • Experience in materials planning, inventory management, purchasing or industrial logistics.
  • Management skills and ability to plan, organize, lead teams, optimize processes and efficiently manage resources.
  • Ability to analyze mass data, performance indicators, production planning, maintenance and replacements, and inventory control.
  • Solid and advanced knowledge of Excel and Power BI.
  • Knowledge of safety, health at work standards, and specific industrial sector regulations.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced English.
  • Availability for frequent travel.

Who will you work with?

You will work in Wabtec's Services area on the MSA Rumo contract, which is committed to generating value and making a difference for the client.

You will carry out your activities with great interaction with our operations team, reliability, other internal teams and the client. Our teams are high-performance, with the prototype of contributing to the company's sustainability.

How will you make a difference?

As part of the Materials team, you will be responsible for the entire flow of materials planning and supply, a strategic area for the execution of our field operations, ensuring the continuity of client maintenance activities, maintaining the operational excellence of the contract.

What do we want to know about you?

  • Graduation in Production, Electrical, Mechanical, Automation Control, Logistics or Administration engineering.
  • Experience in materials planning, inventory management, purchasing or industrial logistics and preferably with team leadership experience.
  • Management skills and ability to plan, organize, lead teams, and optimize processes and efficiently manage resources.
  • Skills and good ability to analyze mass data, performance indicators, production planning, maintenance and replacements and inventory control.
  • Solid and advanced knowledge of Excel functionalities and Power BI;
  • Knowledge of safety, health at work standards, as well as specific industrial sector regulations.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, essential for negotiating with internal, external suppliers and with areas related to the flow of activities.
  • Interest in learning new techniques, technologies and best practices in component and material management and industrial logistics.
  • Advanced English.
  • Availability for frequent travel.

What will your day-to-day be like?

  • Participate daily in routine meetings via Teams, to monitor the progress of operations, review demands and align priorities.
  • Monitor the daily update of material availability indicators on automated platforms;
  • Perform analyzes and monitoring of material availability to meet the MSA contract (Monthly Reviews, Unscheduled Maintenance, FMI Programs, among others);
  • Perform and monitor material demands and requisitions issued via the Oracle MRP system and act in case of deviations;
  • Manage the priorities of material and component supply in arrears with the teams, materials planning, Customer Service, Fulfillment, Sourcing and PCP;
  • Analyze area reports and indicators, such as historical material consumption, Safety stock, demand peaks, take actions and issue reports to managers;
  • Execute administrative processes and monitor the dispatch of parts and equipment from the CD and factory to MSA operations;
  • Propose, coordinate and implement improvements in transactional material supply processes, mainly with internal suppliers;
  • Ensure weekly updates of indicators related to operations (NIS, LHFM, OTD, OTIF);
  • Participate in meetings with multidisciplinary teams, aligning objectives, project status and necessary actions for the fulfillment of field maintenance plans;
  • Prepare and keep the annual forecast updated and monitor inventory of materials and components, carrying out interventions to maintain established limits;
  • Participate and represent the contract in inventory management meetings via teleconference with multifunctional teams from the USA;
  • Develop and maintain updated documentation of the area's operational procedures.
  • Ensure that all activities comply with safety standards, promoting the physical integrity of the teams and intervening in risk areas.
  • Promote team integration, stimulating collaboration in problem solving and in the implementation of continuous improvement projects, aiming for greater efficiency, waste reduction and increased productivity.
