Job Description

The Senior Member of Technical Staff will be working within the Wind River Operating System team on projects that deliver mission-critical, robust, and deterministic Real-Time Operating Systems suitable for a wide variety of mission-critical applications. The successful candidate will join a highly skilled "Helix Virtualization Platform" development team delivering mission-critical Real-Time Operating System for avionics and automotive applications. Responsibilities include developing and delivering high-quality design and code, developing and delivering high-quality documentation used for DO-178 certification evidence, and participating in all aspects of the software development process using Agile development. The role also involves reviewing DO-178 artifacts and providing guidance to conform to Certification standards and investigating and resolving issues reported during product verification and customer integration.
Must have:
  • Develop and deliver high quality design and code.
  • Develop and deliver high quality documentation for D O 178 certification.
  • Review D O 178 artifacts and provide guidance.
  • Investigate and resolve issues during product verification.
  • Participate in software development using Agile.
Good to have:
  • Experience with RTOS software development a plus.
  • ARM/Intel/RISC-V SoC Experience is a plus
  • Experience with Virtualization is advantageous.

Within the Wind River Operating System team, we work on projects that deliver mission critical, robust, and deterministic Real Time Operation Systems suitable for a wide variety of mission critical applications including the aerospace and automotive industry. We are looking for experienced and high-performing individuals that can learn and contribute to these technologies.
 

Who You Will Work With: 

The successful candidate will join a highly skilled "Helix Virtualization Platform" development team delivering mission critical Real-Time Operating System for avionics and automotive applications. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and deliver high quality design and code. 
  • Develop and deliver high quality documentation used for DO-178 certification evidence.
  • Ability to review DO-178 artifacts and provide guidance to conform to Certification standards
  • Investigate and resolve issues reported during product verification and customer integration. 
  • Participate in all aspects of the software development process using Agile development. 


Qualifications/Skills: 

  • BSc / MSc degree (Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical degree).
  • Must be a local resident of Ottawa, CN area with ability to legally work without any type of visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • More than 8 years of relevant technical experience in software development.
  • Ability to technically lead the team during development of features.
  • Strong analytical skills in the C programming language.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent programming skills using Python and Linux shells scripts.
  • Strong analytical and debugging skills.
  • Experience with RTOS software development a plus.
  • Exceptional team player who works well in collaborative environments.
  • Self-managed, fast learner with the desire and ability to master new technologies.
  • Familiarity with iterative and agile/scrum software development processes.
  • Certification experience is beneficial.
  • ARM/Intel/RISC-V SoC Experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Virtualization is advantageous.
