The Senior Principal Product Specialist identifies new opportunities and leads the design and development of innovative solutions. This role acts as a top technical reference, collaborating with customers, partners, and development teams to define and deploy major new products. Responsibilities include leading planning, architecture, and research across projects, coordinating product design, analyzing emerging technologies, and defining best practices. The specialist also assesses customer needs and may manage technical teams.

  • Extensive commercial experience with software design and development methodologies.
  • Recognized leadership in defining requirements and delivering state-of-the-art results.

  • Mastery in delivering innovative technical solutions for large-scale commercial products
  • Proven ability to define and understand business requirements and translate them into software roadmaps and plans

  • Ability to drive success across teams and geographies

SUMMARY

The Senior Principal product specialist identifies new opportunities and leads the design and development of innovative solutions. In this role you will act as a top technical reference, working closely with customers, partners, application engineers, and multiple development teams to define and deploy major new products and capabilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads planning, architecture or research across multiple projects or disciplines. Sets the direction for major technical or research initiatives and projects.
  • Coordinates product design and development activities requiring extensive analysis in areas such as user experience, software design and solver research. Acts as a technical reference across groups or products and analyzes new and emerging technologies and methods for creating leading-edge products and solutions.
  • Leads the organization in depth and breadth of technical knowledge and ability. Defines, develops and employs best practices and maintains them through technical reviews and mentoring.
  • Researches and understands the marketing requirements for products, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues. Works with strategic customers or proxies to assess needs and develop solutions. Disseminates information about opportunities to development leaders and senior management.
  • Operates without direct supervision and functions as a high-level team leader, project manager, or software architect.
  • May be responsible for line management of one or more technical teams.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required Education and Degree Type: BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • Required Minimum Years of Professional Experience: BS+12, MS+10, or PhD+8
  • Extensive commercial experience with a deep understanding of
  • Recognized leadership with a track record of defining requirements and delivering state-of-the-art results on highly complex problems
