LMArena is seeking an experienced (Senior+) Product Designer to help craft beautiful, intuitive product experiences for our growing community of users. In this role you will own the end-to-end design of new products and features that are on the bleeding-edge of AI innovation. You will partner closely with engineering to explore, prototype, iterate, test and ship products across our platform. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable with ambiguity, has a track record of simplifying complexity, enjoys building products 0-1 and wants to shape the future of how people interact with and evaluate AI.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end design process of new features and products.

    • This means everything from prototyping new ideas, to writing proposals and specs, to working with engineering on scope and implementation, to tracking feedback and data, to iterating post-launch.

  • Deeply understand our HXC (High Expectation Customer), why they love our product and how they use it.

  • Understand business goals and user needs with a strong point of view on how we can meaningfully make their experience better and grow our business.

  • Stay up to date on user feedback and analytics, spot trends and use insights to prioritize work and improve the product.

  • Help develop and expand our design system to ensure consistency and quality across all product surfaces.

  • Influence the culture and processes of the design team and drive product vision.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of Product Design experience working on a consumer or developer facing application with a portfolio showcasing:

    • Visual Design - a very high level of visual design craft, attention to detail and ability to surprise and delight users.

    • Product Experience - history of shipping features for consumer-facing products, ideally building 0-1 products or working at or with early stage startups.

    • Impact - track record of making informed, thoughtful design decisions that had a measurable impact on the product’s success.

  • Ability to make appropriate tradeoffs between short term and long term goals, informed by business and/or user needs.

  • Strong interaction, visual and design system skillset:

    • Very strong proficiency in Figma (obviously)

    • Prototyping tool of your choice, doesn't matter what it is as long as you use it well.

  • Prototype-first mindset. You build prototypes and test them to inform your design decisions.

  • Must be comfortable with ambiguity and simplifying complex ideas.

  • Strong writing skills. You feel comfortable writing a PRD or making edits/changes to one. You have strong visual, verbal and written storytelling skills.

Bonus (not required):

  • Strong understanding of AI/LLM space

  • Strong content writing skills
