Job Description

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will design components, assemblies, and systems, ensuring they meet requirements for life, cost, availability, and safety. This involves creating full lifecycle design solutions from concept to disposal, integrating cross-discipline engineering, documenting practices, presenting at technical reviews, and publishing safety reports. We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with CAD software experience and an engineering qualification, preferably with exposure to process plant, mechanical components, or special purpose machinery.
Must have:
  • Creating component / assembly / systems designs and associated through-life justification
  • Creating Full Life Cycle Design solutions through concept, design, manufacture, operation and disposal
  • Integrating cross-discipline engineering concepts, collaborating across manufacturing engineering, simulation, materials, testing, and supply chain functions
  • Documenting and verifying information against sound mechanical engineering practices and references
  • Presenting at technical reviews in front of peers and expert panels
  • Publishing safety and technical reports which are subjected to customer and regulatory scrutiny
Good to have:
  • Exposure to process plant, mechanical components, machining, tooling, handling and lifting, special purpose machinery, pressure vessels, boilers or assembly processes
  • External Skills/Experience from industries such as Civil Nuclear, Marine, Petro-Chemical, Oil & Gas, Special Purpose Machinery

What you will be doing:

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer you will be creating component / assembly / systems designs and associated through-life justification that meet their requirements and product attributes of life, cost, availability, and safety margins.

  • Creating Full Life Cycle Design solutions through concept, design, manufacture, operation and disposal
  • Integrating cross-discipline engineering concepts, collaborating across manufacturing engineering, simulation, materials, testing, and supply chain functions.
  • Documenting and verifying information against sound mechanical engineering practices and references.
  • Presenting at technical reviews in front of peers and expert panels.
  • Publishing safety and technical reports which are subjected to customer and regulatory scrutiny

  • Experienced Mechanical Design Engineer preferably with exposure to process plant, mechanical components, machining, tooling, handling and lifting , special purpose machinery, pressure vessels, boilers or assembly processes
  • CAD Design Software experience
  • External Skills/Experience can be from industries such as Civil Nuclear, Marine, Petro-Chemical, Oil & Gas, Special Purpose Machinery
  • Engineering Qualification or relevant experience (Chartered/Degree/HND/HNC/Apprentice Trained)
