Description

The ideal engineer for this role is comfortable working in a dynamic and creative team charged with exploring an uncharted and rapidly evolving domain. You will take an active role in shaping the quality of our UI Frameworks and SDKs that are used by internal and external developers. You will be deeply integrated with our development engineers, developing test plans, write API qualifying test apps, and supporting design reviews. This role require strong programming fundamentals to help develop in all phases of the release cycle. Responsibilities include defining and implementing the test cases, monitoring test results, bug filing, coordinating test qualification with cross functional teams and reporting. You should be able to identify gaps in the existing test coverage, recommend or add test cases to address them, and ensure they are resolved with a long-term perspective.
  • BS / MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or 6+ years of equivalent experience
  • Proficient in API test development and validation, and familiarity with iOS / iPadOS / MacOS app development
  • Experience developing test frameworks and automation tests at a UI/non-UI levels
  • Excellent knowledge of software development lifecycle, testing methodologies and tools
  • Exposure to Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) applications
  • Proficient working in Xcode environment and coding in Swift. Objective C is a bonus
  • Ability to drive cross-functional communications, understanding dependencies while also ensuring a tight timeline can be maintained

Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python preferred but not necessary
  • Experience development test applications to validate APIs is a bonus
  • Experience developing AR/VR applications or games is a bonus
  • Familiarity with game engines and platforms such as Unity, Unreal etc

Pay & Benefits
    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $170,700 and $256,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

    Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
