Summary

Our mission is to build the definitive engineering platform that accelerates developer innovation. We empower our teams by providing them with intelligent, scalable, and self-service tools, enabling them to build the future without being constrained by infrastructure complexity.

About the Role:

We are seeking a deeply technical and strategic Technical Product Manager (TPM) to own the vision and roadmap for our core workload assets. This is a high-impact role within our Platform Engineering group, responsible for the foundational data services that power all of our applications. You will be the single-threaded owner for a complex portfolio of technologies, including managed datastores (like RDS, DynamoDB, and Elasticache), cloud-native services on AWS, and on-premise data solutions.

Your mission is to create a world-class, seamless experience for our developers, enabling them to provision, manage, and scale their application backends with speed and confidence. You will blend deep technical expertise with a strong sense of product ownership to define the future of how our company handles data at scale, directly influencing the productivity and innovation of hundreds of engineers.

How will you contribute?

  • Own the Vision and Strategy: Define and deliver on a multi-year vision for our portfolio of workload assets. You will develop a clear product strategy and roadmap that aligns with the broader goals of the engineering organization.
  • Be the Voice of the Developer: Act as the primary liaison between the Platform team and our internal developer community. Conduct interviews, run surveys, gather feedback, and deeply understand their workflows, challenges, and needs.
  • Drive the Roadmap: Translate complex technical requirements and user needs into a prioritized backlog of clear user stories, epics, and product specifications. You will work within an agile environment to ensure a steady flow of value to our customers.
  • Serve as a Product Evangelist: Champion the platform's vision and services across the organization. Drive adoption and enablement by working with developers to create clear documentation, best practices, and training materials.
  • Manage the Asset Lifecycle: Oversee the entire lifecycle of our workload assets—from evaluating new technologies and market trends to managing versions and planning the graceful deprecation of legacy systems.
  • Analyze and Measure: Define and analyze metrics that measure the success of your products, including developer satisfaction, reliability, performance, and total cost of ownership. Use this data to inform your product strategy.
  • Lead Through Influence: Collaborate closely with key stakeholders in security, compliance, finance, and application development to ensure our workload assets are secure, cost-effective, and aligned with business goals.

What will you bring?

  • 5+ years of experience in product management, with a proven track record of building and delivering products for developers (e.g., APIs, infrastructure, platform services).
  • A strong technical background with hands-on experience in software engineering, SRE, or infrastructure/cloud architecture. You are comfortable leading technical discussions on topics like system design, APIs, and database architecture.
  • Deep knowledge of the public cloud ecosystem, particularly AWS. You should have a firm grasp of services like RDS, S3, DynamoDB, Kinesis, IAM, and the trade-offs between them.
  • Broad experience with a variety of datastore technologies, including relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL), NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra), and in-memory stores (e.g., Redis, Memcached).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate a compelling vision and articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • A deep understanding of the competitive landscape, both internal (existing solutions) and external (cloud provider offerings, open-source technologies), to make build-vs-buy decisions.
  • A customer-obsessed mindset and a genuine passion for making developers' lives easier.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Executive Communication: Demonstrated experience engaging with and influencing senior leadership.
  • Advanced AWS Expertise: Deep familiarity with AWS services, architectures, and pricing models. AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect) are highly desired.
  • Enterprise & High-Growth Experience: Proven ability to deliver enterprise-grade products and services in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where continuous innovation is expected.
  • Global Collaboration: Adept at fostering strong working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders across multiple locations and time zones.
  • Strategic Execution: Ability to think strategically and execute methodically, managing multiple competing priorities with precision and adapting to dynamically changing circumstances.
