LAB49 is seeking a Senior Product Designer to join their expanding design team. This role involves working with development teams and customers to envision and design desktop, web, and mobile applications. The ideal candidate will excel in customer-facing environments, tackle complex challenges, and think creatively. Responsibilities include managing all aspects of a system's user experience, from screen layout to data visualization, and solving workflow problems. The designer will also present and iterate on ideas with clients, gain broad exposure to business areas and technologies, and quickly learn new skills and terminology. Collaboration with product and development teams is key, with an expectation of being present in the CDMX office at least one day a week.

We are expanding our design team and are hiring Senior Product Designers to work with our development teams and customers, envisioning and designing the desktop, web, and mobile applications we create. As a Product designer at Lab49, you will work in a customer-facing environment solving complex challenges. Responsibilities

    • You'll be responsible for every aspect of a system's user experience - the overall flow and layout of the screens, the fields and information presented, the actions and interactions that are provided, and the visualizations of the data.  
    • You'll be involved in solving workflow problems, developing new ways of visualizing market data, and figuring out what tools the client needs in their solution that even they don't realize yet. 
    • You will think on your feet, sketch, present, iterate and refine ideas alongside and in front of clients.  
    • You’ll gain broad exposure to many areas of our clients' businesses and to a wide range of technologies.  
    • You are adept at quickly learning new skills and terminology and at building rapport with all sorts of end users. 
    • You'll be working with our product and development team.
    • CDMX Office presence 1+ day/ week or more depending on project requirements

Required Experience and Skills

    • 5+ years of solid experience in UX/UI Design, Interaction Design or Information Architecture including an ability to define and drive the process. 
    • Hands-on experience in user research, sketching solutions, wire-framing and final UI/Visual design 
    • An abiding interest in and competence for solving real-world business problems. 
    • Experience working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. 
    • Ability to communicate effectively and to influence client strategy, tactics, and perceptions. 
    • Determination to succeed despite obstacles and challenges, and a positive attitude favoring achievement of goals over open-ended investigation. 
    • Resourcefulness and independence. 
    • Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in HCI, Interaction Design, Information Architecture, Visual Communication, Graphic Design, or any design-related field is highly preferred. 
    • Excellent command of spoken and written English
    • Excellent communication/ presentation skills
