Pragma is supporting healthy and vibrant online communities by creating a backend game engine— a platform of services and tools that enable game studios to launch live-service games.
You'll be joining a passionate, remote-first team (PT time zone) that have scaled some of the largest games in the world such as League of Legends and Destiny 2 and at studios like Riot, Bungie, and EA, and scaled platforms at Amazon, Microsoft, Google, and Unity. About the Role
We’re looking for an engineer with a deep knowledge of AWS and the cloud based systems that modern live services games are built on. Someone that can run and optimize the tools game developers use as they go from internal development to public launch.
In this role you’ll be maintaining, administering and building our infrastructure resources. You will also work closely with game studios on their infrastructure requirements and being part of an on-call rotation.
Responsibilities
Evaluate, maintain and improve the automated infrastructure tooling needed to support game studios to ensure stability, scalability, and high availability.
Deploy and configure the pragma platform in support of game studio needs.
Work with game studios to solve or advise infrastructure specific issues.
Develop runbooks and documentation to support training on the tools, services and processes used to operate the platform.
Pair program with infrastructure engineers to support the improving and creating new tools, including infrastructure management, build, deploy, and access management solutions.
Participate in live support on-call alongside the infrastructure and product engineering teams, including after-hours support for live games.
Qualifications
Experience using AWS to construct distributed, highly scalable systems.
Understands the development process and deployment pipelines of games, such as content, online services, game clients and game servers
Experience with minimizing cost and complexity of hosted infrastructure
Has considerable experience responding to live operations incidents; both in order to support return to service, and also participating in root cause analysis to help identify solutions to prevent the same incident from happening in the future.
Experience integrating/maintaining APIs/SDKs to remote applications, especially game platforms.
