Job Description

The Shipping Supervisor will report to the Operations Manager and oversee all logistics for shipping and receiving products and materials at the site. This role involves managing the hourly shipping department and personnel to meet daily and weekly customer deadlines, as well as handling carrier relationships and prioritizing shipments. The supervisor will ensure efficient operations and timely delivery to customers.
Must have:
  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Previous experience with Oracle based computer software
  • Proficient with MS Office suite
  • Experience in manufacturing environment and/or logistics
  • Strong Customer Service Skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize needs of the site and department
  • Strong communication skills
  • Assist in resolving day to day operational issues for shipping and receiving
  • Communicate directly with carriers, brokers, and internal and external customers
  • Supervise hourly employees assigned to shipping and receiving functions
  • Manage inventory levels of shipping related materials
  • Ensure customer shipment deadlines are met and resources are prioritized appropriately
  • Complete system transactions related to shipping and receiving of materials and goods
  • Maintain organization of completed orders and shipping staging areas
  • Organize and maintain long term finished goods storage racks
  • Continually look for opportunities and implement change to improve shipping/receiving operations

Who will you be working with?

As a member of the Schaefer Equipment group, you will be responsible for managing the hourly shipping department and personnel in meeting daily and weekly shipping deadlines to customers. This individual will also be responsible for carrier relationships and prioritization of shipments. Assigned tasks may change over time based on the needs of the business.

What will your typical day look like?

  • Assist in resolving day to day operational issues for shipping and receiving related issues
  • Communicate directly with carriers, brokers, and internal and external customers
  • Supervise hourly employees assigned to shipping and receiving functions
  • Manage inventory levels of shipping related materials – pallets, containers, racks, protective wrapping, etc.
  • Ensure customer shipment deadlines are met and resources are prioritized appropriately
  • Complete system transactions related to shipping and receiving of materials and goods
  • Maintain organization of completed orders and shipping staging areas
  • Organize and maintain long term finished goods storage racks
  • Continually look for opportunities and implement change to improve the shipping/receiving operations of the site

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
  • Must be able to move head and neck while driving forklift
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and color vision.
  • While performing the duties of this job travel will not be required under normal circumstances.
  • All other PPE is provided by the company to the employee

The salary range for this role is $60k- $80k annually.

Wabtec will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the U.S. for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a drug screen (as applicable) and fitness for duty test (as applicable).

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary range for this role is between $60,700.00-$83,400.00

The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. More information on offered benefits, which include health, welfare, and retirement, are available at mywabtecbenefits.com. Other benefit offerings for this role may include an annual bonus, if eligible.
