Job Description

Progress is a software provider enabling customers to develop, deploy, and manage AI-powered applications. Join us as a Software Engineer to work on Sitefinity, a .NET Content Management System used by organizations like WHO. You will design, develop, and maintain product features and integrations, including .NET (Core) microservices, and build new functionalities for the Sitefinity WCMS product. This is a maternity cover position.
Must have:
  • Participate in research of software components and understand product architecture and design.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and readable code adhering to quality standards, including tests.
  • Analyze business requirements and provide additional scenarios and use cases.
  • Participate in regression and functional testing to ensure product quality.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide guidance for personal and code quality improvements.
  • Investigate problems, identify, and resolve bugs of varying complexity.
  • Provide realistic time estimates on tasks and assignments.
  • Continuously learn and stay updated on product architecture, components, API, features, and documentation.

As a Software Engineer, you will design, develop and maintain product features and integrations like

.NET (Core) microservices.

In addition, you will develop new features and extensibility points in the

Sitefinity WCMS product. Take responsibility for building new functionalities, enhancement, and maintenance of existing ones.

Please, note that this is a maternity cover position.

In this role, you will:

  • Participate in the research of the software components behind the team tasks and have a good understanding of the architecture and design of the team's product.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and readable code while strictly adhering to team coding quality standards. This includes writing different types of tests.
  • Analyze business requirements. Provide additional scenarios and use cases - based on a continuously enriched understanding of the customer problem.
  • Participate in regression and functional testing to ensure the quality of the product.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide guidance to drive personal and code quality improvements.
  • Investigate problems of diverse scopes, identify, and resolve bugs with different complexity.
  • Provide realistic time estimates on tasks and assignments.
  • Continuously get acquainted and remain updated on the product's inner workings: architecture, components, API, features, and documentation.

Your background:

  • Basic hands-on experience with C# and .NET, including the ability to write clear and functional code.
  • Familiarity with at least one Single Page Application (SPA) framework or library (e.g., React, Angular, or similar).
  • Exposure to Object-Oriented Design principles and a basic understanding of design patterns.
  • Understanding of test-driven development (TDD) concepts and writing high-quality readable, testable, and reusable code.
  • Awareness of how to write optimized and memory-efficient code
  • Foundational knowledge of relational databases (e.g., MS SQL Server) and the ability to write basic queries.
  • Basic understanding of CI/CD tools and workflows, with a willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Familiarity with basic cloud concepts, including microservices and cloud-native patterns
  • Proficient written and verbal English language skills.
  • A strong willingness to learn, take on challenges, and adapt to modern software engineering practices.
