Google Cloud's software engineers develop next-generation technologies. This role involves designing, developing, and improving systems connecting customer networks to Google Cloud, collaborating with various teams to launch new products, and staying updated on networking trends. Engineers are expected to be versatile, demonstrate leadership, and tackle new problems across the full-stack, anticipating customer needs and innovating.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience working in C++, Python, Go, or a similar language
  • 2 years of experience with network architectures, protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, etc.) and technologies, as well as concepts like scalability, fault tolerance, and consistency
  • 2 years of experience with network design, implementation, and troubleshooting
Good to have:
  • Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
  • 8 years of experience in software development, and with data structures or algorithms
  • 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects
  • Experience in developing solutions to ambiguous problems
  • Experience with Java or Go, with the ability to resolve customer-related issues
  • Excellent communication skills

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$202,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
