Google's Software Engineers develop next-gen technologies at scale. This role involves working on a critical project within Google Cloud, focusing on data center operations globally. Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience with software development or 1 year with an advanced degree in an industry setting
  • 2 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture
  • Experience in Software development with programming language Go
  • Address current transfer appliance reliability, performance and security challenges
  • Work with external suppliers to specify, test and profile the next generation of TAs
  • Improve our software to boost storage reliability, data transfer speed, customer usability
  • Work on general data storage infrastructure problems
  • Provide technical guidance for team members
Good to have:
  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields
  • Knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals
  • Knowledge of Unix file-system fundamentals (high throughput reads and writes; compression; encryption)
  • Understanding of networking, network performance, and network configuration
  • Understanding of Linux Kernel level software/modules
  • Understanding of low-level storage (raid-arrays, HDDs)

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$202,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
