Rippling is seeking a Software Engineer II for its Global Payroll team to enhance their global payroll platform, which processes and pays hundreds of thousands of employees over $50 billion annually. This role offers a chance to shape a core product offering and build the future of payroll. Responsibilities include designing and developing high-quality software throughout the product lifecycle, understanding how the product differentiates Rippling, collaborating with product management and other engineering teams, driving innovation, building features for complex technical problems, and resolving technical issues to ensure seamless operation.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 3+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Proficiency in Java, Python, or similar languages.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in designing scalable, distributed systems or SaaS platforms.
Good to have:
  • Experience in Python, Django, MongoDB, AWS.

About The Role

As a Software Engineer II on the Global Payroll team, you will play a critical role in advancing our global payroll platform to scalably process and pay hundreds of thousands of employees over $50B+ year. This is a great opportunity to shape the platform powering one of Rippling’s core product offerings, and the next billion dollar vertical. You will own and drive initiatives by creating new product functionality from the ground up as well as rearchitecting key components of our platform to help us scale. What you’ll do

  • Design and develop high-quality product software, over the full life cycle of product delivery
  • Learn and understand how your product can help Rippling continually differentiate itself
  • Collaborate with Product Management and other stakeholders within Engineering (Frontend, UX, etc.) to maintain a high bar for quality in a fast-paced, iterative environment. Wear a product manager hat when needed
  • Drive innovation toward a world-class platform
  • Build features that solve technical problems of high scope and complexity
  • Identify and resolve technical issues, conduct system maintenance, and ensure seamless operation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 3+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong proficiency in Java, Python, or similar programming languages.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proven experience in designing and developing scalable, distributed systems or SaaS platforms.
  • Preferred experience in our technology stack- Python, Django, MongoDB, AWS.
